Abstract: A method and apparatus schedule uplink transmissions with reduced latency. A first resource used for transmitting a scheduling request indication in a subframe can be determined at a device. The first resource can be associated with uplink data transmissions using a first TTI length. The first TTI length can include a first number of symbols. A second resource used for transmitting a scheduling request indication in the subframe can be determined. The second resource can be associated with uplink data transmissions using a second TTI length. The second TTI length can include a second number of symbols. The second number of symbols can be smaller than the first number of symbols. A scheduling request indication resource can be selected from one of the first resource and the second resource. The scheduling request indication can be transmitted in the selected scheduling request indication resource in the subframe.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for refreshing the security keys of a subset of configured radio bearers including less than all of the currently configured radio bearers is provided. An indication is received from a network entity to release one or more radio bearers from the subset of configured radio bearers for which the refresh of security keys is desired. A new radio bearer is added for each of the one or more radio bearers being released. Each of the new radio bearers is added with new security keys.

A first set of time-frequency resources in a subframe can be determined from the resource assignment. A second set of time-frequency resources in the subframe can be determined. The second set of time-frequency resources can be for a low latency data transmission. The second set of time-frequency resources can overlap with at least a portion of the first set of time-frequency resources. A regular latency data transmission in the subframe can be decoded based on the determined first and second set of time-frequency resources. The regular latency transmission can have a longer latency than the low latency transmission.

Abstract: A method and apparatus provide for low latency transmissions. A first control channel can be transmitted in a first temporal portion of a subframe. The subframe can include a plurality of OFDM symbols in a time domain and a plurality of subcarriers in a frequency domain. The first control channel can occupy a first portion of subcarriers less than the plurality of subcarriers. The first control channel can assign first data resources only in the first temporal portion of the subframe. A second control channel can be transmitted in a second temporal portion of a subframe. The first temporal portion can occupy at least one different first OFDM symbol in the subframe from the second temporal portion. The second temporal portion can occupy at least one different second OFDM symbol in the subframe from the first temporal portion. The second control channel can occupy a second portion of subcarriers that is less than the plurality of subcarriers. The second control channel can assign second data resources only in the second temporal portion of the subframe.
