Abstract:
A tissue anchor has a body, protrusions from the body, and a tissue engaging fin. The body is oriented on a longitudinal axis and has a leading tip, a leading end portion extending from the leading tip, a trailing end portion connected to the leading end portion, with the trailing end portion terminating in a trailing tip that is located opposite of the leading tip. A first anchor width measured between the protrusions is greater than a second anchor width measured at the trailing end portion of the body. The tissue engaging fin is integrated with the leading end portion of the body and oriented in a direction perpendicular to the radial direction of the first and second protrusions. The tissue engaging fin has a fin width and is provided with an eyelet formed through the fin width. A gripping tab is removably attached to the tissue engaging fin.
Abstract:
A surgical system adapted for dissection of tissue away from a body lumen includes a tissue dissection tool and a catheter. The tissue dissection tool includes a shaft connected between a handle and a tissue dissection head. At least the tissue dissection head of the tissue dissection tool is magnetized to a first polarity. The catheter is insertable into a urethra, with a wall of the catheter magnetized to the first polarity. When the catheter is inserted into the urethra, the first polarity of the catheter is configured to repel the first polarity of the tissue dissection head of the tool away from the catheter and away from in the urethra.
Abstract:
A tool for implanting an inflatable penile prosthetic cylinder includes a barrel and a clasp. The barrel extends from a proximal end to a distal end and has a solid central portion bounded by a curved exterior perimeter of the barrel. The clasp has a proximal end that is attached to the tool and a distal end that is free to move away from and towards the barrel. The clasp has an interior surface located adjacent to the curved exterior perimeter of the barrel and an exposed exterior surface opposite of the interior surface. The interior surface of the clasp is spaced a distance away from the barrel at locations between the proximal end and the distal end of the clasp. The interior surface of the clasp touches the barrel at the distal end of the clasp.
