    Abstract: A display panel and a display device. The display panel includes a light guide plate including a light incident surface and a light emergent surface; the light incident surface is one end surface of the light guide plate; an opposite substrate opposite to the light guide plate; a liquid crystal layer between light guide plate and opposite substrate; a light source located on the light incident surface of light guide plate; a light shielding layer at the side, facing liquid crystal layer, of the opposite substrate; the light shielding layer including light shielding regions, light transmitting regions; light converging elements located on light emergent surface of light guide plate, the light converging elements corresponding to one light shielding region; a transparent conductive structure between light guide plate and opposite substrate and configured to make liquid crystal layer be equivalent to a diffraction grating structure under control of electric signals.

    Abstract: A backlight module, a manufacturing method thereof, a display device and a light guide device are provided. The backlight module includes: a light guide structure, including a volume grating layer, the volume grating layer including a plurality of volume grating portions and a light guide portion between adjacent volume grating portions, the plurality of volume grating portions being configured to introduce a beam of a specific wavelength into the light guide portion; and a light extraction structure, located on a light exit side of the light guide structure, wherein a refractive index of the light guide structure is greater than a refractive index of the light extraction structure, and an incident angle of the beam introduced into the light guide portion on a plane where the light guide portion is located is not less than a total reflection critical angle of the light guide structure.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides an optical substrate and a display device. The optical substrate includes: a light guide plate which includes a light entering surface and a light extraction surface adjacent to the light entering surface, and is configured to enable light entering the light guide plate through the light entering surface to be totally reflected toward an opposite surface of the light guide plate opposite to the light entering surface; and a plurality of light extraction structures which is arranged on the light extraction surface of the light guide plate for extracting the totally-reflected light in the light guide plate, and has areas of orthogonal projections of the plurality of light extraction structures on the light extraction surface of the light guide plate gradually increasing along a direction from the light entering surface to the opposite surface.

    Abstract: A surface light source, comprising a waveguide layer and a grating structure; the waveguide layer has a first surface and a second surface opposite to each other; the grating structure is provided on the first or second surface of the waveguide layer; and the grating structure is used for guiding light incident to the grating structure to the waveguide layer and performing total reflection propagation in the waveguide layer. Such surface light source structure enables energy and direction of light emitted from a light field modulation layer to be distributed uniformly, and thus the thickness of the surface light source and the number of LEDs in the surface light source are reduced. Also disclosed is a display device.

    Abstract: A display panel and a display device are disclosed and belong to the field of display technology. The display panel comprises a first substrate and a second substrate opposite to each other, a liquid crystal layer, a first electrode, and a second electrode between the first substrate and the second substrate, a waveguide layer between the first substrate and the liquid crystal layer, and a plurality of grating units which are combined with the liquid crystal layer and disposed in a same layer as the liquid crystal layer; wherein the first electrode and the second electrode are configured to adjust a refractive index of the liquid crystal layer by changing voltages applied thereto; and a coupling efficiency at which light is coupled out of the waveguide layer is determined according to a difference between a refractive index of the grating units and the refractive index of the liquid crystal layer.
