Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, to rasterize an image by generating assignments and allocating the assignments among multiple processor threads such that no two processor threads are rasterizing concurrently into overlapping regions of a pixel array. Multiple assignments are generated. Each assignment specifies one or more graphics objects and a region of the pixel array into which the specified graphics objects are to be rasterized. Multiple processes are established for rasterizing objects into a pixel array. Each process is operable to receive an assignment and to rasterize the objects of the assignment into the region of the assignment. Assignments are selected for concurrent execution by processes so that no two selected assignments have overlapping regions. The selected assignments are concurrently executed by separate processes to rasterize the respective objects of the assignments into their respective regions.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a state machine which has a dual process which receives and concurrently processes ad-hoc and infrastructure processes. The dual process state concurrently executes both processes by either over-clocking a media access control core, or by routing the processes to multiple media access control cores for processing. The state machine contains an ad-hoc process state which accepts either an ad-hoc or an infrastructure signal, and either processes the signal if the received signal is an ad-hoc signal, or transfers control to an infrastructure process state for processing if the received signal is an infrastructure signal. The state machine also contains an infrastructure process state which accepts either an ad-hoc or an infrastructure signal, and either processes the signal if the received signal is an infrastructure signal, or transfers control to an ad-hoc process state for processing if the received signal is an ad-hoc signal.

Abstract: A method for generating a head related transfer function comprises downconverting each of a plurality of measured impulse responses from a first sampling frequency to a second sampling frequency and then converting each downconverted impulse responses to a set of head related transfer functions. Coordinate conversion can then be performed on each set of head related transfer functions. The converted sets of head related transfer functions are then averaged to generate one average head related transfer function. The average head related transfer function can be decimated to fit a filter engine of a target system.

Abstract: An adjustable kettlebell includes a carrier having two or more compartments for selectively receiving weight members, a handle attached to the carrier for carrying the carrier, and a retaining device rotatably attached to the carrier for selectively opening the opening of the carrier and for allowing the weight members to be engaged into the carrier, and for selectively closing the opening of the carrier in order to selectively retain either or all of the weight members to the carrier. The weight members may be easily and quickly and changeably attached to the compartments of the carrier without disassembling the carrier.

Abstract: A system and method for securely storing electronic documents is provided. The system includes a client portion and a server portion and the client portion is located at a trusted location. The client portion encrypts each electronic document and produces a list of terms of interest relating to the document, which terms are also encrypted. The encrypted document and the encrypted terms are transferred to a server portion which need not be located at a trusted location. The document is stored at the server portion in a manner which allows for locating the document again via the encrypted terms and returning the encrypted document to the trusted client portion, where it can be decrypted. Attachments to documents can also be encrypted and stored at the server, as can copies of dynamic documents, such as web pages. The server portion can also have a retention manager and encryptor which is used to implement document retention and destruction policies defined by the user of the system.

Abstract: Surface-active, non-leaching antimicrobial film forming compositions and methods for their application to preferably medical device surfaces are provided. The compositions form durable coatings with long-lasting antimicrobial efficacy without formation of a zone of inhibition. Optionally the films can be hydrophilic. Specific long-chain molecules of certain chemical reactivity are covalently bonded into a polymeric matrix. They maintain a long-term anti-microbial efficacy without being leached out into the aqueous environment. The polymeric matrix of the compositions contain functional groups, which covalently bond to an amine, thiol, carboxyl, aldehyde or hydroxyl active group of selected long chain quaternary ammonium compounds. Upon formation of a covalent bonding with the polymeric matrix the long chain compounds become immobilized but still maintain antimicrobial efficacy. They do not leach out over extended period of time into the aqueous environment and maintain an anti-microbial efficacy against microorganisms. The coating is useful to prevent bacterial colonization on a variety of surface including surfaces of medical devices.
