    Abstract: The present disclosure describes methods, devices, and non-transitory computer readable storage medium for managing lifecycle of a knowledge base (KB) in chatbot systems. The method includes receiving an update request and updating a current-version KB as a new current-version KB. The method also includes receiving a first test request from a knowledge point (KP) operator and determining whether the new current-version KB passes a first test; and in response to the determination that the new current-version KB passes the first test, submitting the new current-version KB as a new submit-version KB. The method further includes receiving a second test request from a KP manager and determining whether the new submit-version KB passes a second test; and in response to the determination that the new submit-version KB passes the second test, storing an original production-version KB as a pervious-version KB and submitting the new submit-version KB as a new production-version KB.

    Abstract: Optical inspection system detects defects of an object, such as an electronic device during manufacturing. The optical inspection system includes a first linear light source that irradiates a first light beam on a top surface of the object along a scan line across the width of the object. A second linear light source forms an angle with the first linear light source and irradiates a second light beam on a side surface of the object. A camera receives scattered light from the top surface and the side surface of the object and captures a subimage of the object along the scan line. An image processing system receives each subimage from the camera, stitches the subimages, and detects defects on the top surface and the side surface of the object.

    Abstract: Systems and methods providing low-density parity-check (LDPC) decoder configurations capable of decoding multiple code blocks in parallel are described. Parallel LDPC decoders of embodiments can be reconfigured to simultaneously decode multiple codewords with reconfigurable size. In operation of embodiments of a parallel LDPC decoder, a plurality of active portions of the decoder logic are configured for parallel processing of a plurality of code blocks, wherein each active region processes a respective code block. The decoder logic active portions of embodiments are provided using a reconfigurable segmented scalable cyclic shifter supporting multiple instruction, multiple data (MIMD), wherein multiple individual different data shifts are implemented with respect to a plurality of code blocks in an instance of data shifting operation. Multiple data shift commands may be utilized such that the plurality of code blocks have an individual shifting command to thereby implement different data shifting with respect to each code block.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the technology discussed herein address problems of traditional electronic character recognition training by artificially generating handwriting in a unique way according to machine learning techniques that transform handwriting samples according to generative rules and discriminative rules. Solutions provided herein produce a wide range of artificially generated handwriting that appears to be human generated handwriting. As such, embodiments herein provide additional characters for a system's character bank that are obtained more efficiently, as compared to traditional techniques. Further, embodiments herein are designed to be suitable for machine learning, and as such, the techniques grow ever more efficient as the techniques are performed. In short, the solutions provided herein improve the computing technology itself in a manner that makes robust electronic Chinese character recognition feasible.

    Abstract: Methods are described for detecting an edge of an object within an image with a fractional differential operator. Methods are also described for calculating 3D information using a strip pattern and the disclosed edge detection method. The fractional differential operator may be a modified Riesz space fractional differential operator. When calculating the fractional derivative of the image, a kernel approximation, in which a scaled Gaussian kernel function or a simplified scaled Gaussian kernel function, is applied to discretize the modified Riesz space fractional differential operator locally. The disclosed method improves the accuracy of edge detection, eliminates the need of applying additional fractional integration for noise suppression, and requires a smaller mask length to achieve desired accuracy.
