Abstract: A user equipment (UE) transmits, to a base station, UE capability information that corresponds to a maximum number of configured pathloss reference signals and/or a maximum number of activated pathloss reference signals. Then, the base station configures the UE for a number of configured pathloss reference signals that is less than or equal to the maximum number of configured pathloss references signals and/or activates a number of pathloss reference signals based on the UE capability information that is less than or equal to the maximum number of activated pathloss references signals.

Abstract: Aspects relate to mechanisms for wireless communication devices to utilize transmission configuration indication (TCI) field invalidation after PDSCH beam setting. A user equipment (UE) detecting a beam failure on a connected beam. The UE transmits a beam failure recovery request. The beam failure recovery request includes an indication of a candidate beam. The UE receives a first message including a beam failure recovery response and a second message including downlink control information (DCI) for scheduling a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH). The UE applies the candidate beam to the PDSCH when the second message is received at least a predetermined number of symbols after receiving the first message.

Abstract: Aspects are provided which allow a base station to dynamically select or indicate an active CORESET associated with a search space or set of PDCCH candidates. The base station selects, for at least one UE, an active CORESET associated with a search space for a period of time. The base station transmits a dynamic indication of the active CORESET associated with the search space to the at least one UE. A UE receives the dynamic indication of the active CORESET associated with the search space for the period of time. The UE then monitors for a downlink control channel during the period of time based on the dynamic indication of the active CORESET.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station and a user equipment (UE) with a defined capability may communicate using beamformed wireless communications. The defined capability may be that the UE may support fewer activated physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states than activated control resource set (CORESET) TCI states. The defined capability UE and the base station may implement techniques to determine which TCI state to use when the UE supports fewer activated PDSCH TCI states than activated CORESET TCI states. The UE may use an activated PDSCH TCI state selected by a media access control (MAC) control element (CE), an activated TCI state of a specific CORESET, a TCI indicated in scheduling downlink control information, or an activated PDSCH TCI state selected by a radio resource control (RRC) message.
