    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Some wireless communications systems support mobile broadband (MBB) communications and low latency communications. To accommodate low latency communications, a base station may identify resources allocated for MBB communications, and the base station may reassign (or puncture) these resources for low latency communications. The base station may transmit an indication of the reassigned (or punctured) resources to one or more user equipments (UEs). The base station may transmit an indication of the reassigned resources over a designated indication channel during a time period that is being reassigned for low latency communications (e.g., using a current indication). The base station may also transmit another or complementary indication of the reassigned resources in a subsequent time period (e.g., using a post indication), which may include supplemental or additional information.

    Abstract: The described techniques relate to techniques for determining transmission opportunities and utilization of uplink resources by a user equipment (UE) in communication with a base station. In some examples, a base station may transmit a slot configuration to a UE. The slot configuration may indicate the communication link direction (uplink, downlink, or flexible) associated with each symbol in a given slot. A dynamic slot configuration may indicate which of the flexible symbols are uplink symbols and which are downlink symbols and the UE may determine uplink transmission opportunities based on the slot configuration, the dynamic slot configuration, and a grant free uplink type associated with the UE. The UE may transmit an uplink data message to the base station using the determined set of uplink transmission resources.

    Abstract: An apparatus may configure x subframes with a subslot configuration that includes y subslots, y being greater than x. In an aspect, each subslot of the y subslots may include a first portion having one or more symbols for carrying at least one of data or control information, a second portion having a gap, and a third portion for carrying ACK/NACK information associated with the first portion. In an aspect, the second portion may be between the first portion and the third portion. In an aspect, the second portion and the third portion may include at most one symbol. The apparatus may send information indicating the subslot configuration to at least one neighboring base station. The apparatus may communicate content with a user equipment (UE) during at least one of the y subslots.

    Abstract: Systems and techniques are disclosed to enhance the efficiency of available bandwidth between UEs and base stations. A UE transmits a sounding reference signal (SRS) to the base station. The base station characterizes the uplink channel based on the SRS received and, using reciprocity, applies the channel characterization for the downlink channel. As part of applying the channel information, the base station forms the beam to the UE based on the uplink channel information obtained from the SRS. The UE may include an array of antennas, each UE transmitting a different SRS that the base station receives and uses to characterize the downlink. Multiple UEs (or a single UE with multiple antennas) transmit SRS at the same time and frequency allocation (non-orthogonal), but with each sending its own unique SRS. Further, multiple UEs (or a single UE with multiple antennas) may send their SRS at unique time/frequency allocations (orthogonal).

    Abstract: Techniques for processing of symbols (e.g., orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) or single carrier-frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) symbols) provide enhanced out-of-band (OOB) suppression of the symbols and also provide reduced inter-symbol interference (ISI) between a symbol and a subsequent symbol. Multiple frequency tones of a symbol may be divided into two or more subsets of tones. For example, subsets of tones associated with a head portion or a tail portion of an OFDM symbol may be processed with a relatively long weighted overlap-add (WOLA) weighting length or filtering length, and a subset of tones associated with a center portion of the OFDM symbol may be processed with a relatively short WOLA weighting length or filtering length. Such heterogeneous processing of tones within a symbol may provide enhanced inter-channel interference (ICI) and improved OOB suppression and also provide reduced ISI for the center tones of the symbol.

An example method generally includes transmitting a first subframe comprising a first grant that includes information for one or more transmissions on that allocated resources in the first subframe to a user equipment (UE) and transmitting the first subframe, with a second grant that allocates resources in at least a second subframe to occur after the first subframe.
