    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify, based at least in part on a sub-carrier spacing configuration and a frequency band of a base station, a synchronization signal block configuration used to communicate one or more synchronization signal blocks, wherein the synchronization signal block configuration defines a placement of control symbols within a slot and one or more beam switching gaps. The UE may monitor a set of resources in the frequency band according to the synchronization signal block configuration. The UE may receive one or more synchronization signal blocks based at least in part on the monitoring. The UE may establish or modify a connection with the base station based at least in part on the received one or more synchronization signal blocks.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may perform single frequency network (SFN) manner relaying in sidelink to support exchanging packets between UEs, for example, without maintaining beamforming alignment between the UEs. A first UE (e.g., a source UE or destination UE) may establish a pre-agreement with a second UE for the second UE to operate as an SFN-manner relay over sidelink for the first UE. The pre-agreement may be reached via a publish-and-subscription procedure, in which the second UE publishes an SFN-type relaying service and the first UE subscribes to the SFN-type relaying service. The second UE may receive sidelink signaling associated with the first UE (e.g., transmitted by or to the first UE) and may relay the sidelink signaling in a resource configured for SFN-type transmission based on the first UE being subscribed to the SFN-type relaying service.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In a first case, a first user equipment (UE) may transmit to a second UE a sidelink discovery message preamble corresponding to a sidelink discovery message. The first UE may identify resources for transmission of the sidelink discovery messages based on the sidelink discovery message preamble. The first UE may either transmit the sidelink discovery message to the second UE or may receive the sidelink discovery message from the second UE using the identified resources for the transmission of the sidelink discovery message. In some cases, the second UE may transmit sidelink control information (SCI) to the first UE, and may transmit a sidelink discovery message to the first UE based on resources identified in the SCI. In some cases, the first UE may transmit the sidelink discovery message without transmission of a preamble or a SCI.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) and a network entity may support a control mechanism according to which the UE determines whether an upgrade from a first channel access type to a second channel access type is available for an uplink transmission from the UE to the network entity. For example, the network entity may configure the UE with a set of channel access types and the UE may determine whether the second channel access type is available for the uplink transmission based on which channel access types are present in the set of channel access types. As such, the UE may upgrade from the first channel access type to the second channel access type if the second channel access type is present in the set of channel access types.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A sidelink message may be scheduled for a UE during a first short transmission time interval (TTI). The first short TTI and a second short TTI for transmitting a sidelink feedback message corresponding to the sidelink message may both be shorter in duration than a another, longer type of TTI. The UE may transmit automatic gain control information in a first symbol period of the second TTI, transmit the sidelink feedback message in a second symbol period of the second TTI (after the first symbol period of the second TTI), and switch from operating in a transmitting mode to operating in a receiving mode during a third symbol period of the second TTI (after the second symbol period of the second TTI).
