Abstract: For miniature drives which are used in particular in car locks, the axial play of the motor spindle is prevented, or is at least greatly restricted, by the necessary axial stop and also the further motor stop being assigned to the housing cover of the housing. When the housing cover is placed onto the housing casing, said axial stops are inserted into corresponding guides in such a manner that said axial stops subsequently not only restrict the play of the motor spindle and ensure an always uniformly secure arrangement of the motor housing in the housing, but at the same time also make possible the substantially simpler production of the required bearing bore. Said bearing bore and the associated aperture are produced from the outer side of the housing casing during the injection molding.

Abstract: A rack bushing supported by an annular elastic member in a housing includes a bushing body and a flange portion extending outward in a radial direction from a first axial end of the rack bushing. The flange portion is positioned at a step portion of an inner periphery of the housing. The bushing body includes a second axial slit extending from a second axial end to a middle portion in an axial direction. A gap that communicates with the second axial slit is formed between the inner periphery of the housing and an outer surface of the bushing body. A recessed groove (communication passage) of the flange portion allows a first space, disposed on a housing-end side with respect to the rack bushing in the housing, to communicate with the gap.

Abstract: A working end of a rotary shaft extends through a bearing supported at a distal end of a cantilever housing, the shaft's working end being subjected to transverse loading. The bending stiffness of the system is matched so that the angular deflection of the shaft and supporting cantilever housing are coordinated to minimize angular misalignment at the bearing. A cantilever system provides for apparatus and methodology demonstrating arrangements characterized by an operational ease for submersion of the working end in a fluid and ease of access to the bearing. Mitigation of misalignment enables the use of radial bearings.

Abstract: An assembled roller comprising a cylindrical bush having eight external rib surface features and an over-molded roller. The joining edge of the opposing component parts comprises, in axial end profile, a ramp section comprising a ramp surface. The ramp surfaces lie in planes that are parallel or slightly offset by 1° to 20° to the direction or angle of approach of the respective opposed component part immediately prior to engagement, so that the ramp surfaces are adapted to slidingly engage across ramp surfaces in a resistance, rather than snap, fit. This arrangement forms a catch that will hold the component part halves together during an over-molding process as long as the ends of the bush are retarded against axial displacement.

Abstract: A bushing anti-rotation system and apparatus. A bushing anti-rotation system includes an impeller and diffuser stage including a rotatable shaft extending longitudinally through the stage, the diffuser having an inner diameter defining a bore, a bearing set including a bushing pressed into the inner diameter, and a rotatable sleeve inward of the bushing, and means for wedging the bushing against the inner diameter of the diffuser, wherein the means for wedging provides a mechanical lock against rotation of the bushing. The means for wedging the bushing against the diffuser includes one of a key wedged between an eccentric cavity in the diffuser and a notch in the bushing, a pin protruding from the diffuser against a flattened portion of the bushing, a square-shaped bushing secured into a square-shaped bore, a bent retaining ring having a bent end that wedges against a diffuser groove wall, or a combination thereof.

The journal bearings (30) preferably have a circumferential groove (52) on an outer surface of the bearing aligned with the oil supply holes (50) to help feed oil to the oil supply holes (50).

Abstract: Systems are provided for an engine block assembly comprising a cylinder block, bearing caps and crankshaft main bearings. In one example, an engine block assembly may comprise a cylinder block, a bearing cap bolted to the cylinder block, the bearing cap comprising: a first recess included in a first surface, a second recess included in a second surface opposite the first surface, and a thrust surface interfacing with a crankshaft bearing, where a rigidity of the thrust surface may vary along an axial profile of the thrust surface due to the first and second recesses. When the bearings caps are bolted to the cylinder block, the thrust surface may bend due to its variable rigidity, and as such may induce a bend in an axial profile of the crankshaft bearing to a more convex shape.
