Abstract:
A lockout system includes a hasp assembly and a plurality of tags. The hasp assembly has a back plate defining slots each sized and shaped to receive a tag. The back plate and tags each have openings that align when a tag is received in a slot. A first hasp portion on the back plate defines part of a closed loop. A longitudinal locking bar is slidable along the back plate and has notches shaped to receive ends of the tags. Moving the locking bar between an unlocked position and a locked position operates the second hasp portion between an open position and a closed position. In the closed position, the first and second hasp portions complete and define the closed loop, where one or more tags can be installed in slots with the first end of the tag engaging a notch to lock closed the hasp portion.
Abstract:
A lock is provided, the lock having: a lock mechanism having a first member and a second member, the first member and the second member each being slidably mounted to a housing of the combination lock, wherein the first member is capable of movement between a first position and a second position and the second member is capable of movement between a first position and a second position and wherein movement of the first member from the first position to the second position causes the second member to move from the first position to the second position; a bolt configured for movement between a locking position and an unlocking position, the bolt preventing the second member from moving from the second position to the first position when the bolt is in the locking position.
Abstract:
A lock assembly including a plurality of button assemblies having a plurality of indicator elements. A position of the indicator elements sets a lock combination. A code blocker is configured to cover and prevent access to the plurality of button assemblies when the lock assembly is in a first position, for example in an unlocked position, and to allow access to the plurality of button assemblies when the lock assembly is in a second position, for example in a locked position.
Abstract:
A padlock is provided that can be locked and unlocked using a combination mechanism or a key mechanism. A padlock includes clutches that will not be turned during the lock mode or the open mode. A lock body has more than one slot to engage an extended fin of the clutch in the lock mode. An opening slot and faulty notches are located in each of the dials. In the lock mode, the turning of the dials will have no effect on the clutches. Each extended fin of the clutch is engaged in a slot of the lock body in the lock mode. The faulty notches on the dials are clearer and an intruder cannot feel the correct opening slot by turning dials to pick the combination.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for assisting a user in actuating a locking mechanism associated with a storage device. The locking mechanism has a combination input device and a lock capable of being switched from a locked state to an unlocked state upon entering a preset combination using the combination input device. The actuator comprises an interface configured to releasably engage the combination input device of the locking mechanism and move the combination input device to actuate the locking mechanism and transition the lock from the locked state to the unlocked state. A controller is in communication with the actuator and configured to operate the actuator so that the actuator moves the combination input device based on the preset combination to actuate the locking mechanism and transition the lock from the locked state to the unlocked state.
Abstract:
An electronic combination lock has a touch panel for combination code entry. If the combination code matches a preset code, a solenoid in energized to unlock the lock, allowing a user to pull up the shackle to open the lock. The user can be a master user, a regular user or a temporary user with each type of users having different level of access. For example, the master user can have unlimited number of times to use the master combination code, while a temporary user has only a limited number of times to use its temporary code as designated by the master user. In one embodiment, the lock can be opened with a key. In another embodiment, the user can enter the combination code from a detached electronic device.
Abstract:
An electronic apparatus includes a structure and an optical navigation circuit. A first end of the structure is located inside the electronic apparatus and its second end corresponds to a user's control. The structure can be moved forward/backward in a specific direction and/or rotated in another direction. The optical navigation circuit emits light to the structure, captures reflected light from the structure to sense/receive an image from the surface of the structure, detects displacement of the image along a specific axis of the structure, and determines the user's operating behavior as a specific operation according to a change of the sensed displacement of the image.
Abstract:
An electromagnetic shielding lock box comprises an openable and closable box body. The box body is defined an accommodating groove, made by electromagnetic shielding materials, and has a lock unit and a hooking member. The box body is closed for receiving at least one key while the lock unit is in a locking status and for shielding the transmission of at least one electromagnetic wave signal due to the electromagnetic shielding materials. The lock unit is further limited the hooking member to be locked to the box body. The box body is opened for taking the at least one key out while the lock unit is in an unlocking status to unlock the hooking member from the box body.
Abstract:
A dual locking system including a combination mechanism and a key mechanism is provided, including a control plate to control access to the key mechanism. When the control plate is positioned in a blocking position, the control plate blocks access to the key hole of the key mechanism. The control plate can be released from the blocking position by turning the dials of the combination mechanism to the correct combination. The released control plate can be moved to an exposure position, which allows access to the key hole.
Abstract:
A dual locking padlock having a code locking mechanism and an overriding mechanism is disclosed. The housing has a top body as its top portion, a stack of dials and a stack of clutches mounted on a middle portion and a bottom portion having holes to receive screws from the top body for securing the housing. Dials are engagingly mounted on the clutches and only rotatable relative to the clutch when the lock is in the opened mode for changing the combination code. The housing has a spindle having a channel to store the heel of a shackle. The spindle's upward movement allows the shackle to be pulled upward to unlock the padlock. The spindle is allowed to move upward either when a correct combination code is used or when a key activates the overriding mechanism. With the overriding mechanism, the padlock can also be opened with a key.
