    摘要: A pneumatic radial ply tire for heavier load conditions having a reduced weight, high durability bead area. The pneumatic tire includes a tire bead and a carcass ply folded about the bead to define a main body portion and a turnup portion. The turnup portion is folded around the bead and located adjacent the main body portion radially outward of the bead. The turnup portion has a turnup height of approximately 35-45% of the total section height. A thin rubber strip associated with the bead is disposed between the main body portion and the turnup portion and has an insert height of approximately 25% of the total section height. The pneumatic tire further includes a chafer having a maximum chafer gauge of not more than approximately 1.5 times the thickness of the tire side wall.

    摘要: A heavy duty tire comprises a bead core disposed in each bead portion, and a carcass ply of steel cords extending between the bead portions. The edges of the carcass ply are winded around the bead cores from the axially inside to outside of the tire to form a pair of winded portions and a main portion therebetween. The winded portion around the bead core comprises an axially inwardly extending turnback part above the bead core, and a base part under the bead core. The base part is curved concavely so as to form a space between the base part and the bead core, and an anchor rubber having a complex elastic modulus of from 20 to 80 MPa is disposed in the space to tightly pinch the carcass cords between the anchor rubber and the bead seat of the wheel rim.

    摘要: The invention provides an assembly of a pneumatic tire and a rim. The tire has at least one carcass ply 2 and a belt layer 8. The ply 2 is composed of ply cords and has end portions. The belt layer 8 is composed of belt cords provided outside of the ply 2. Each belt cord extends in a direction intersecting the ply cord. Each of the end portions is held in the rim 12. The width of the tire is maximum in a circumferential cross section “T” with a cylindrical shape with respect to the center axis “D” of the tire. The cross section “T” extends through the rim 10. When the tire is rolled under a load and a stress is applied on the tire as an arrow “X”, a neighboring portion 2d near the end portions 2a, 2b is considerably bending-deformed as arrows “Y” to absorb the stress. The roundness of the belt layer 8 is thus preserved to reduce the rolling resistance of the tire considerably.
