    摘要: An input transformer for a coaxial transmission line is provided which allows continuously variable amplitude and phase of an RF signal conducted on the transmission line. The transformer comprises a housing having a longitudinal axis. A center conductor of the coaxial line extends along the axis through the housing. A first sleeve is axially movable within the housing, and has contact points on an outer surface thereof to provide electrical conductivity between the first sleeve and the housing. The ability of the first sleeve to move axially enables variability in the location of the transformer along the transmission line. The first sleeve has an inner wall that is eccentric relative to the longitudinal axis of the center conductor. A second sleeve having a cylindrical outer wall is disposed within the first sleeve. The second sleeve is rotationally movable within the first sleeve, and has contact points on the outer wall to provide electrical conductivity between the first sleeve and second sleeve. The second sleeve has an inner wall that is eccentric with the outer wall of the second sleeve. Rotation of the second sleeve within the first sleeve varies the eccentricity of the inner wall of the second sleeve relative to the center conductor to alters the impedance (Z.sub.0) of the input transformer. The transformer may be adjusted in position and impedance without dismantling the transmission line system, permitting an associated adjustment of phase and amplitude of an RF signal conducted on the transmission line.

The first and second inner conductor sections of the first and second assemblies have first and second metal blocks. The first metal block is fitted in the second metal block by a shinkage fit and the first outer conductor section of the first assembly is air-tightly welded to the second outer conductor section of the second assembly. An RF matching annular groove is defined between the first and second metal blocks.

For this purpose, a hollow cylinder of dielectric material is provided between the coaxial line on the input side and the coaxial line on the output side, the hollow cylinder surrounding the inner conductor of the coaxial line on the input side and being connected with its one end face to the outer conductor of the coaxial line on the input side and being connected with its other end face to a flange which is arranged between the inner conductors of the coaxial lines of the input and output sides. A window arrangement constructed in accordance with the present invention is particularly suitable for employment in radio link traveling wave tubes.

    摘要: A magnetron adapted for operation with an ungrounded power supply, has mounted thereon and tightly coupled thereto an external cavity resonator having coaxial first and second openings in opposite walls thereof. The magnetron has coaxial output connection members including a hollow outer connection member communicating with the interior of the cavity resonator through the first opening, and an internal connection member extending entirely through and beyond the resonator via the first and second openings. The cavity resonator is galvanically insulated from the magnetron by teflon insulation which provides capacitive coupling therebetween. The cavity is coupled to a load which may be grounded. The cavity resonator is formed from a closed section of wave guide, two embodiments of which are disclosed.

    摘要: This invention provides an improvement in a Klystron tube assembly including a tube portion installed within an assembled magnetic system, the tube portion having several chambers each of which contains interaction sections and vacuum-closed coupling openings from which coupling conductors can be extended to the exterior of the Klystron, the chambers being arranged between an electron gun and an electron collector, and the surrounding magnetic system producing an axial magnetic field directed essentially parallel to the axis of the beam of the electron gun. The improvement comprises recesses arranged in the magnetic system so that coupling conductors can be shifted therein to be perpendicular to the axis of the electron beam and means arranged on the chambers to have the coupling conductors attached thereto in a manner whereby the tube portion can easily be withdrawn from and inserted into the magnetic system.
