    摘要: A probe for developing a visual indication of the electrical state of a selected point in a digital circuit under test. The probe is provided with two clips for attaching to the power supply and the ground of the circuit to be tested. The operator then holds a sharp tip of the probe at the selected point at which the electrical condition of the circuit is to be tested. Two light emitting diodes visible on the probe body display which one of the six possible circuit conditions exist at the selected point, such as open circuit, positive-going pulse, negative steady-state and so forth. The circuit utilizes integrated circuit NOR and inverting buffer components. Pulses as short as ten nanoseconds may be detected. The probe may be used with any voltage range of the various logic circuit families.

    摘要: Ground fault detection apparatus improved to include detector circuiry for providing an output current responsive to imbalance in the alternating currents flowing to and from a load only if it be of sustained character and of sufficient amplitude. The detector circuitry discriminates against responses to imbalance current primarily consisting of infrequent short-duration high-amplitude spikes characteristic of transient disturbances in favor of responses primarily consisting of the sustained, relatively long-duration rectified sinusoidal waveforms characteristic of ground fault conditions, even where the average level of the transient disturbance component of the imbalance current is equal to or in excess of the average level of ground fault component.

    摘要: An apparatus for monitoring, analyzing and accurately determining the value of peak current, the peak rate of change in current with respect to time and the rise time of the electrical currents generated in an electrical conductive mast that is located in the vicinity where lightning is to be monitored. The apparatus includes an electrical coil for sensing the change in current flowing through the mast and generating a voltage responsive thereto. An on-site recorder and a recorder control system records the voltages produced responsive to lightning strikes and converts the voltage to digital signals for being transmitted back to the remote command station responsive to command signals. The recorder and the recorder control system are carried within an RFI proof environmental housing into which the command signals are fed by means of a fiber optic cable so as to minimize electrical interference.

    摘要: An alternator-battery electrical system test apparatus which, in one modification, includes a four stage voltage level sensing system, each stage being operative in response to a particular condition of the electrical system under test. The first stage senses the filtered and unfiltered output of the alternator to provide a pulsed output which provides an indication of any diode failure or winding failure in the alternator. The remaining three stages sense the voltage output from the alternator as compared to a fixed reference, each particular voltage condition providing an indication of a preselected electrical condition within the circuit. The entire system is calibrated by a single calibrating resistor. The second modification of the system provides two outputs, one output indicating a regular defect and a diode condition indicator and the other indicator providing an indication of no defects in the system if conducting alone, or an alternator defect if conducting simultaneously with the above mentioned one output. The circuit is substantially identical to the first modification, with certain elements eliminated.

    摘要: A capacitive pickup device for deriving a measurable voltage which is a linear function of the magnitude of pulsating high voltage of the order of 15 to 40 kilovolts in an insulated conductor, the pickup device having a pair of electrically conducting plate members connected together electrically to form one plate element of a capacitor, the conductor itself forming the other plate element of the capacitor and the conductor insulation forming the dielectric. The pickup device also includes a pair of electrically conducting plates respectively carried in spaced relation with the plate members, the plates being centrally relieved to accommodate the plate members and adapted to be connected to ground. An indicating and protective gaseous conduction lamp is electrically connected between the plate members and plates, and a capacitor and a resistor are connected in parallel across the lamp to form an output circuit for connection to apparatus for indicating in linear manner the magnitude of the high voltage in the conductor. The plate members and plates are relatively movable so they selectively may open and close for receiving a portion of the insulated conductor without requiring conductor disconnection.

    摘要: A device for testing the voltage of a voltage source comprises a bridge circuit, a differential switching circuit and an indicator element. The bridge circuit includes a first circuit comprising a first resistor; a second circuit comprising first diode means connected to the first circuit; a third circuit comprising a second resistor connected to the first circuit, the junction between the third and first circuits being connected to one terminal of the voltage source; and a fourth circuit comprising a serial connection of second diode means and a third resistor. One end of the fourth circuit is connected to the third circuit and the other end is connected to the second circuit. The junction between the fourth and second circuits is connected to the other terminal of the voltage source. The third resistor has a resistance value sufficiently great so that the differential voltage between the junction between the first and second circuits and the junction between the third and fourth circuits depends on the source voltage. The differential switching circuit is adapted to change its condition in accordance with the differential voltage between the junction between the first and second circuits and the junction between the third and fourth circuits. The switching circuit has a terminal for outputting the condition thereof. The indicator element is connected to the output terminal to indicate the condition of the differential switching circuit.
