摘要： A method of manufacturing a cold-rolled magnesium alloy sheet for improving formability, including, (a) preparing a composite sheet which is composed of a main sheet made of magnesium alloy and a restrainer made of steel and functioning to suppress transverse plastic deformation (plastic deformation in a transverse direction) of the main sheet during a rolling process, (b) performing a cold-rolling of the composite sheet, and (c) separating the cold-rolled magnesium alloy sheet from the cold-rolled composite sheet obtained from (b). The magnesium alloy sheets manufactured by the invention has improved formability at an ambient temperature, and thus can be usefully applied to extensive industrial fields such as automobiles and aircrafts.

摘要： A system for maintaining a continuous speed in a long rolling mill is provided that includes a plurality of guide rollers that feed a billet product from a caster to an entry roll stand along a mill pass line to an exit roll stand. Also, the system includes a plurality of gauges positioned at a plurality of locations along the mill pass line, the gauges perform speed measurement of the billet product passing along the guide rollers. Furthermore, the system includes a logic controller that receives the speed measurement and maintains a speed relationship where the speed between the caster and the entry roll stand is constant as well as the exit speed of the end roll stand is also constant.

摘要： A plate-like stock material is rolled or edged to a desired width on an edging stand of an edger. The edging stand is equipped with a pair of vertical rolls. The central axis of at least one of the vertical rolls of the edging stand is tilted within a suitable angle range toward the same direction as the advancing direction of the stock material or toward the direction opposite to the advancing direction of the stock material in a vertical plane parallel to the advancing direction of the stock material. The resulting downward bending deformation is received by a table roller.

摘要： In a processing device which includes a pair of rotatable rolls and a support for supporting a coil of foil-like material, a device is provided for feeding the leading end of the outer turn of the coil of foil-like material into the gap between the rolls. The device comprises a structure which is movable along a path which brings it close to the periphery of the coil and to the roll gap. The structure includes suction apparatus for picking up the outer turn of the coil and apparatus for blowing air over a surface of the leading end of the foil to cause the leading end to tauten and enter into the roll gap.

摘要： A steel mill, particularly a single strand reversing or tandem cold strip reduction mill is provided with an entry guide having a number of strip guide rolls mounted on a carriage or sledge, for displacement in the feeding direction as a complete assembly towards and away from the working rolls to facilitate rapid roll changing, particularly of the working rolls. The location of many components below the mill pass-line greatly improves operator viewability. In addition, a coolant hood cushions the upper working roll and back-up roll to permit the controlled application of coolant to the rolls without depositing or splashing significant quantities of coolant on strip passing through the mill. The hood and associated coolant supply system also facilitates thermal crowning of the top working roll and visual accessibility of the strip in the mill.
