    摘要: A coil spring end forming apparatus is provided that includes a pair of horizontally disposed parallel rollers 8; a mandrel 22; a stopper 20 that is provided adjacent to the circumferential surface of the mandrel 22 and is moved up or down and rotated integrally with the mandrel 22; a clamp jig 24 that is provided so as to be movable toward or away from the mandrel 22 and that holds a semi-formed spring 30 in cooperation with the mandrel 22, and a pusher 12 for pushing the semi-formed spring 30 toward the stopper 20, wherein in a state in which the axis of the mandrel 22 is positioned between the axes of the parallel rollers 8 and the semi-formed spring 30, a clamp portion 2 holds the semi-formed spring 30 at the inner side of a triangle formed by the axes of the parallel rollers 8 and the semi-formed spring 30 and rotates around the axis along the winding direction of the semi-formed spring 30 to form a pigtail portion at one end of the semi-formed spring 30, and a coil spring end forming method is further provided.

    摘要: A computer controlled wire coiling machine having three separately controllable motors for controlling wire feed, pitch tool operation and diameter tool operation. The machine includes a computer having a keyboard for setting predetermined parameters thereat regarding wire feed, spring pitch and spring diameter in constructing a predetermined spring. Three separate control signals are taken from the computer corresponding respectively to and for operating the three motors to thereby carry out the desired steps in forming the predetermined parameters that have been established.

    摘要: An apparatus is provided for producing coils in the course of a process for the production of binding coils which are to be introduced directly into a row of holes in a pack of sheets. The apparatus has a winding spindle which is surrounded by the coil produced, from which the coil lifts when the front end of the coil is stopped, the winding spindle being driven continuously. A cutting device, for example in the form of scissors is provided for cutting the coil. A device for stopping the front end of the coil periodically is provided between the winding spindle and the cutting device, the stopping device being arranged to operate with a timing correlated with the operation of the cutting device.

    摘要: In the automated manufacture of helical coils from sheet-metal blanks, each station of a rotatable set or carrousel of winding stations picks up a flat elongated blank from a stationary loader and securely grips and locks one end in an angled position against a slightly-tapered arbor whose subsequent rotation then causes the blank to become tightly wrapped helically about the arbor while retractable ironing plates stretch-form it and while a second locking mechanism positions the opposite end of the blank untl wrapping is completed. The single thrust of a shaped actuating rod causes a locking member to both position itself and move into a clamping relation with the one end of the blank and the arbor, and both the second locking mechanism and the ironing plates are of toggle-type constructions which enable them to hold securely until positively released. Arbor rotation, and operation of the second locking mechanism, are powered in response to motion of the carrousel relative to stationary structure, and fluid-powered actuators serve to drive the thrust rod and ironing plates under control of detectors responding to angular positions taken up by the carrousel.

    摘要: A coil made of a continuous piece of elongated material such as tubing, prebent into pancakelike spirals called radial layers, each radial layer made up of several concentric and coplanar convolutions, with several radial layers stacked axially, and method and apparatus for making such coils. The material is bent prior to coiling at predetermined bending radii which are different for different convolutions within a radial layer. One or more of the convolutions within each radial layer may be bent at constant bending radius; the rest may be bent at gradually changing radii. The bending radius is controlled by an electric and hydraulic network employing both timed and feedback controls. The coil may be built either upwardly, with the most recently made radial layer always at the bottom of the coil, or it can be built downwardly, with the most recently made radial layer always on the top of the coil.
