摘要: Disclosed are an arc path formation unit and a direct current relay including same. An arc path formation unit according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises a plurality of magnet parts. The magnet parts, positioned adjacent to respective stationary contacts, are configured such that surfaces facing each other have different polarities. Also, some of the plurality of magnet parts are disposed at an incline relative to other magnet parts. Thus, magnetic field is formed by the plurality of magnet parts to obliquely pass by each of the stationary contacts. The electromagnetic force generated by the magnetic field is imparted in a direction away from the central region of a direct current relay. Accordingly, the generated arc moves in a direction away from the central region of the direct current relay, and thus damage to the direct current relay can be prevented.

摘要: Shown are an arc path formation unit and a direct current relay including same. The arc path formation unit according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a plurality of magnet parts. The magnet parts form a magnetic field at the point at which each fixed contact is positioned. Each magnet part positioned adjacent to each fixed contact is formed so that opposite surfaces thereof facing each other have different polarities. An electric current flowing through the fixed contact and a movable contact, and the magnetic field generated by each magnet part form an electromagnetic force. The electromagnetic force moves away from the center of the direct current relay. Therefore, the generated arc moves in the direction of the electromagnetic force so as to move away from the center of the direct current relay. Thus, damage to the direct current relay can be prevented.

摘要: One embodiment describes a method that includes, when a motor is disconnected from a power source: starting, using a control circuitry, a counter at a first voltage zero-crossing by either a source voltage or a back electromotive force generated by the motor; stopping, using the control circuitry, the counter at a next subsequent second voltage zero-crossing by either the source voltage or the back electromotive force; monitoring, using the control circuitry, a trend in counter values; and instructing, using the control circuitry, one or more switching devices to reconnect the power source to the motor after a local minimum in the counter value trend such that the source voltage is leading the back electromotive force.

An electromagnetic relay includes a housing, a stationary contact and a moving contact which are disposed opposite to each other in the housing, and a pair of permanent magnets and disposed opposite to the stationary contact and the moving contact. An arc generated between the stationary contact and the moving contact is drawn due to a current conducting between the stationary contact and the moving contact and magnetic forces of the permanent magnets. An arc shield member is disposed in a position in which an arc in the housing is induced.

Provided that a direction of action is a direction intersecting with a direction of the magnetic field applied to the first contact unit and with a direction in which the movable contact moves, the arc-extinguishing body forms an arc-extinguishing space in the direction of action.
