摘要: An external combustion engine formed with a plurality of heaters for improving output, provided with a container in which a working medium is sealed flowable in a liquid state, the container being formed with heaters for heating part of a working medium to generate vapor of the working medium and coolers for cooling the vapor to liquefy, the generation and liquefaction of the vapor causing the working medium to change in volume and the displacement of the liquid part of the working medium caused by the change in volume of the working medium being converted to mechanical energy for output, wherein at least the parts of the container connected with the heaters being branched into pluralities of tubular parts, a plurality of heaters are formed so as to be connected with the plurality of tubular parts, a plurality of vapor reservoirs for storing the vapor of the working medium are formed so as to be connected with the plurality of heaters, and the plurality of vapor reservoirs are connected with each other.

摘要: There is provided a method for generating power from a working fluid wherein the working fluid is a saturated vapor or is superheated to a vapor and then passed to a high pressure zone where the working fluid is used to impart work to a working shaft by means of directly linked high and low pressure cylinder piston assemblies located in the high pressure zone and a low pressure zone, respectively. Work is imparted to the working shaft rotatably coupled to the high pressure piston by constantly exposing the lower face of the high pressure piston to the vapor in the high pressure zone while selectively exposing the upper face of the high pressure piston to the vapor in the high pressure zone as the high pressure piston approaches upper dead center in relation to the working shaft, said upper face of the high pressure piston forming a first variable volume with the high pressure cylinder wall; and concurrently therewith intermittently discharging vapor from the first variable volume to a larger second variable volume formed of the lower face of a low pressure piston linked directly to the high pressure piston and a low pressure cylinder wall while constantly exposing the upper face of the low pressure piston to low pressure vapor in a low pressure zone and intermittently exposing the second variable volume to the low pressure zone, said second variable volume being allowed to increase more rapidly than the first variable volume decreases as the high and low pressure pistons move from bottom dead center to top dead center in relation to the working shaft.

摘要: The modular closed cycle turbine system is advocated as a compact, unitized power system, in which the major components are connected in an optimum working relationship. The helical expansion condenser (HEC), is hollow so that the power fan, turbine expander, auxiliary cooling turbine, and gear reduction unit are nested within the cylindrical cavity. The flat vapor generator ring (VGR) is mounted directly below the HEC and completely insulated from it, so that a minimum of thermal losses are incurred. The VGR is also hollow so that the turbine expander and other components occupy the open cavity, for compactness and unification. All other components of the system are placed in normal operating relationship to each other within the two formed cavities.

摘要: The invention relates to a device and a method for separating dirt particles from the working medium of a turbine (10). The turbine (10) comprises at least one rotor (11) which is arranged in a housing (17). A swirl generator (20) is provided that sets the working medium and the dirt particles in a spiral-shaped rotational movement along a principal axis (22) by means of the geometry of the swirl generator (20) and thereby separates the dirt particles from the working medium. The swirl generator (20) is designed in such a way that the working medium experiences a reversal of the speed component parallel to the principal axis (22) within the swirl generator (20).

摘要: A thermal power generation apparatus includes a control circuit that selects a single operation mode from among a plurality of modes including a normal mode and a specific mode on the basis of a voltage in a commercial system. The normal mode is an operation mode in which alternating-current power output from an inverter is adjusted so that a direct-current voltage in a direct-current power line follows a target voltage. The specific mode is an operation mode in which direct-current power absorbed by an electric power absorber and/or the amount of heat per unit time supplied to a heat engine are/is adjusted so that the direct-current voltage follows the target voltage.

摘要: Aspects of the invention disclosed herein generally provide heat engine systems and methods for generating electricity. In one configuration, a heat engine system contains a working fluid circuit having high and low pressure sides and containing a working fluid (e.g., sc-CO2). The system further contains a power turbine configured to convert thermal energy to mechanical energy, a motor-generator configured to convert the mechanical energy into electricity, and a pump configured to circulate the working fluid within the working fluid circuit. The system further contains a heat exchanger configured to transfer thermal energy from a heat source stream to the working fluid, a recuperator configured to transfer thermal energy from the low pressure side to the high pressure side of the working fluid circuit, and a condenser (e.g., air- or fluid-cooled) configured to remove thermal energy from the working fluid within the low pressure side of the working fluid circuit.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention generally provide a heat engine system, a mass management system (MMS), and a method for regulating pressure in the heat engine system while generating electricity. In one embodiment, the MMS contains a tank fluidly coupled to a pump, a turbine, a heat exchanger, an offload terminal, and a working fluid contained in the tank at a storage pressure. The working fluid may be at a system pressure proximal an outlet of the heat exchanger, at a low-side pressure proximal a pump inlet, and at a high-side pressure proximal a pump outlet. The MMS contains a controller communicably coupled to a valve between the tank and the heat exchanger outlet, a valve between the tank and the pump inlet, a valve between the tank and the pump outlet, and a valve between the tank and the offload terminal.
