It is one of MULTIPLE transport modules of an identical design. The transport element has, on one side, a lower friction coefficient than on the other side of an equator and is driven by the drive shaft via transmission means of the transport module. The transport element carrier carries the transmission means of the transport module and has a spring assembly allowing it to be shifted in the direction of gravity and contrary to it.

    摘要: A print media moving apparatus includes a web guide positioned immediately upstream relative to a roller. The web guide has an arcuate surface including three sections with the second section located between the first and third sections. The arcuate surface includes a peak in the second section. The roller, having a diameter and rotational axis, includes three sections with the second section located between the first and third section as viewed along the rotational axis. The diameter of the roller in the first and third sections is greater than in the second section. The three sections of the web guide correspond to the three sections of the roller such that the contour of the arcuate surface causes the print media, after leaving the web guide, to contact the first and third sections of the roller prior to contacting the second section of the roller.

The web-guiding structure includes an exterior surface having a pattern of recesses formed into the exterior surface, wherein the web of media travels past the web-guiding structure with a first side of the web of media contacting at least some non-recessed portions of the exterior surface of the web-guiding structure. The air source provides an air flow between the first side of the web of media and the exterior surface of the web-guiding structure thereby providing a lifting force to lift portions of the web of media overlying the recesses away from the exterior surface of the web-guiding structure.

    摘要: A pair of opposing rollers comprises a first roller and a second roller contacting the first roller to form a nip between the rollers through which print media passes. Because of surface irregularities in the rollers, the nip can have one or more unintended gaps at locations where the surface of the first roller separates from the surface second roller. Further, a frame holds the first roller and the second roller. A manual or automatic axis adjuster is operatively connected to the controller and the first roller. The axis adjuster changes the angle of the axis (a first axis) of the first roller relative to the axis (a second axis) of the second roller based on the gap to position the first axis in a position other than parallel to the second axis. Changing the angle of the first axis relative to the second axis reduces or eliminates the gap.
