摘要： An apparatus for packaging animal waste. In one embodiment, a platform has a surface over which waste may be deposited, and a pair of rollers positioned along an edge of the platform to receive a receiving substrate and a cover substrate, each substrate having first and second opposing edge regions. A first dispensing mechanism is positioned to provide the receiving substrate across the platform to the rollers; and a second dispensing mechanism is positioned to deliver the cover substrate to the rollers. Each roller is positioned to receive the edge regions of the receiving substrate and the cover substrate and press the edge regions of each against the other to join the edge regions together.

摘要： A discharge mechanism includes a rotary shaft, a roller member, and a deforming unit. The roller member has a peripheral surface that is coaxial with the rotary shaft, rotates together with the rotary shaft, and discharges a medium that is in contact with the peripheral surface. The deforming unit deforms the medium in such a way that a part of the medium, the part being not in contact with the peripheral surface, passes through a position that is closer to the rotary shaft than the peripheral surface is. A part of the peripheral surface, the part being in contact with the medium, is continuously displaced in an axial direction and in a rotation direction of the rotary shaft when the roller member is rotated.

摘要： A method and apparatus is disclosed for combining multiple small stacks of flats mailpieces into a single large stack of mailpieces and then transferring the large stack to a standard flats mail tray, all while maintaining the sequence order of the mail in the accumulated stack. The apparatus is comprised of three primary subsystems: a bridge conveyor, a stack accumulator, and an output tray station. The bridge conveyor carries mailpieces from the exit conveyor of a mail processing machine such as a collator, to the stack accumulator. The stack accumulator combines small stacks of mailpieces into large stacks in a desired sequence. The output tray station provides support for an empty tray as the accumulated mail stack is transferred to the tray, and then releases the filled tray in a controlled manner.

摘要： Methods and apparatus for guiding flexible glass ribbons (13) without mechanically contacting the central portion (4) of the ribbon are provided in which two curved sections are formed in the ribbon which stiffen the ribbon so that lateral forces can be applied to the ribbon without causing it to buckle. The curvatures of the curved sections are along the direction of motion (15) of the ribbon and can be produced using curved air-bars (12,14) and/or pairs of cylindrical rollers (5a,5b,16a,16b). The lateral forces can be applied by pairs of guide rollers (7a,7b,9a,9b) which can be mounted on spring-loaded pivot arms (6,19,29) and can have a complaint outer coating or sleeve (35). The guiding system can be used in the winding of the glass ribbon onto a cylindrical core (11).
