    摘要: A medium supply device includes: a stacking unit in which media are stackable in a vertical direction; a first regulating unit that is provided on the stacking unit and that regulates positions of side portions of the media in a width direction; a supply unit that supplies air to more than one of the media stacked on the stacking unit so that the more than one of the media are raised and separated from each other; a transport unit that successively feeds the media that are raised and separated from each other by the supply unit; a detection unit that detects conditions of the media that are raised and separated from each other by the supply unit from outside in the width direction; a second regulating unit that is attached to an upper section of the stacking unit when the media stacked in the stacking unit are second media and that regulates positions of side portions of the second media in the width direction, the second media having a smaller dimension than first media in the width direction; and a moving unit that moves the detection unit to an area in which the second media are detectable when the second regulating unit is attached.

    摘要: A sheet-shaped-medium feeder includes a housing, a mount portion that is disposed to be vertically movable in the housing and that receives sheet-shaped media, a lift that vertically raises or lowers the mount portion, a discharger that transports the sheet-shaped media stacked on the mount portion in order from an upper one of the sheet-shaped media, and first air outlets that blow air to the sheet-shaped media stacked on the mount portion at left and right edges in a feed width of the sheet-shaped media. The mount portion is changeable to a long mount portion capable of receiving long sheet-shaped media by extending an end portion of the mount portion upstream from an unchanged position in a transportation direction of the sheet-shaped media, the end portion corresponding to an upstream end portion in the transportation direction. The sheet-shaped-medium feeder has a second air outlet that blows air to at least one of left and right edges of the long sheet-shaped media stacked on the extended portion of the long mount portion.

    摘要: A medium feeding apparatus includes: a placement mount on which a plurality of media are placed; a transportation mechanism that transports an uppermost medium of the plurality of media placed on the placement mount; a floating-air blowout mechanism that blows out air to float at least the uppermost medium; a suction mechanism that sucks air to cause the uppermost medium floated by the floating-air blowout mechanism blowing out air to be attracted to the transportation mechanism; and a floating-air control unit that causes the floating-air blowout mechanism to start to blow out air while the uppermost medium is being attracted to the transportation mechanism after starting to be transported by the transportation mechanism, so as to float at least a second medium located below the uppermost medium, and causes the floating-air blowout mechanism to stop blowing out air before the second medium starts to be transported by the transportation mechanism.
