摘要: An impact load reduction structure includes a battery frame, a load reduction frame, and a load absorber. The battery frame is fixed to a vehicle body frame of an electrically-powered vehicle and supports a battery. The load reduction frame extends in a front-rear direction on a front side of the battery frame and is disposed in a substantially same plane as the battery frame. The load absorber is disposed between the load reduction frame and the battery frame and absorbs an impact load to be transmitted from the load reduction frame to the battery frame.

摘要: A collision energy absorbing assembly for a land vehicle includes first and second frame rails and a powertrain having an engine and a transmission. The powertrain is disposed between the rails such that the powertrain is spaced apart from the rails. The vehicle also includes an energy-transfer element attached to an inner side of the first rail or powertrain to reduce a spacing between the powertrain and first rail thereby increasing a cross-car load transfer during a collision.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a front structure of a vehicle body having a wheel installation strut and a side member which flanks an interior defined by the front car. The side member has a convex surface, by means of which it is fastened to an end of the wheel installation strut in multiple points. At least one point is offset relative to the other points towards the interior. As a result, a front structure with good stiffness for improved occupant protection can be provided, which can also be assembled in a simple manner.

摘要: A stiffening arrangement (22) for a forward structure (10) of a motor vehicle has a mounting bracket (20) for mounting a motor vehicle radiator. A shear field (24) is connected to the mounting bracket (20) to dissipate shear forces. A right stiffening strut (28) connects the shear field (24) to a right suspension-strut dome (16) and supports the mounting bracket (20) on the right suspension-strut dome (16), and a left stiffening strut (30) connects the shear field (24) to a left suspension-strut dome (18) and supports the mounting bracket (20) on the left suspension-strut dome (18). Thus, a major part of the crumple zone of the forward structure (10) provided for a frontal crash can be utilized, so that the risk of damage to engine components in an engine bay of the forward structure (10) is reduced and vibrational comfort for the driver is improved.

A vehicle-body front structure includes: paired frame members elongated in a vehicle front-rear direction and arranged side by side in a vehicle width direction; a bumper frame portion elongated in the vehicle width direction and provided over front ends of the paired frame members in the vehicle front-rear direction; and a load transmission member. The load transmission member is placed on an inner side in the vehicle width direction relative to at least one of the frame members so as to be opposed to a load receiving portion placed between the paired frame members from at least one of a front side in the vehicle front-rear direction and an outer side in the vehicle width direction within a range where the load transmission member overlaps with the frame member in a vehicle up-down direction.

摘要: A system and method for manufacturing a top mount for a vehicle suspension includes loading a top mount body, a journal, and a plurality of knurled studs into a lower die assembly. The lower die assembly includes a stationary die base, a floating die top, and a pusher shaft. A pusher head assembly applies a downward pressure to insert the knurled studs into the top mount body, while the pusher shaft substantially simultaneously applies an upward pressure to insert the journal into the top mount body. The floating die top and the pusher head assembly are raised in tandem to eject the top mount from the stationary die base. The floating die top and the pusher head assembly then retract so that the top mount can be removed from the system.
