摘要: A method of using a device for encouraging adherence to a medication schedule and proper administration technique includes placing the device on a surface. The device includes a body, a timer associated with the body for measuring and displaying an elapsed time since an immediately prior medication dose was administered; and a button on the body that, when depressed relative to the body, resets the timer. The button is sized and shaped for accommodating a medication container used to store or activate the medication. The button and the body are configured for cooperating with the medication container for facilitating mixing of the medication. The method further includes engaging the medication container with the button and resetting the timer.

摘要: An electronic pill box for receiving a blister pack having a plurality of dosettes pre-loaded with doses of medication. The pill box includes a base module having a plurality of receptacles that receive the dosettes of the blister pack. The number of receptacles is sufficient to hold about a month of medication. A day module is engaged with the base module but is detachable therefrom. Individual dosettes are detached from the blister pack and loaded into receptacles in the day module. The base module and day module include capacitance sensors for determining if a dose of medication has been removed at the required time. The day module also includes a light sensor assembly that verifies whether the dosettes loaded into the day module's receptacles are the correct dosettes for the time of day a particular dose of medication should be taken.

摘要: This is a method and system by which monetary incentives may be used to motivate compliance to a wellness program that targets management of chronic illnesses. This invention provides administrators of wellness programs with methods and systems for refunding wellness program participant health insurance co-payments and payments made according to a health insurance deductible according to two distinct criteria: (1) how much effort the wellness program participant has invested in complying with the wellness program and (2) how successful the wellness program participant is in complying with the wellness program. By adjusting the size of the refund portions and the time intervals between the refunds, an administrator of a wellness program can achieve an optimal and rational method and system for motivating individuals with chronic illnesses to comply with the objectives of a wellness program. Moreover, this method and system of monetary incentives targets only those wellness program participants that invest in complying with the objectives of a wellness program.
