摘要： A tamper-resistant pill dispensing device that utilizes live data to regulate pill consumption and send virtual flags to physicians if patterns of dependence are triggered. The device contains two separate components. The first is a live monitoring dispensing device assembly that detects and collects data as to whether the device has been tampered with. This smart device uses a microcontroller and timer to track data in real time and control circuitry to release pills during the exact times the physician instructed. The second component is a disposable capsule assembly that is compatible with current pharmacist pill-loading practices. The disposable capsule assembly attaches to the dispensing device assembly and once connected cannot be disconnected until instructed by a physician. Once connected, a patient can use various user interfaces and physical devices to better regulate their prescription pill consumption.

摘要： A medication box assembly includes a pill box that has a plurality of compartments each integrated into the pill box to contain pills. A plurality of covers is each hingedly disposed on the pill box for opening and closing the compartments. A lid is hingedly coupled to the pill box for opening and closing the pill box. A weight sensor is integrated into the pill box to sense weight of the pills in the compartments. An alert is integrated into the lid and the alert is in communication with the weight sensor. The alert is actuated when the weight sensor senses a weight that is below a pre-determined trigger weight to communicate that the number of pills in the compartments has fallen below a minimum amount.

摘要： An article dispensing apparatus includes a carousel and an upper casing with a dispensing face including a dispensing orifice through which the articles are dispensed. The carousel includes plural holding sections for holding the articles to be dispensed and is rotationally movable. A controller controls application of a force to cause the carousel to rotate relative to the dispensing face when an instruction to dispense an article is received. When the carousel is moved so that one of its holding sections having an article therein is aligned with the dispensing orifice, the article is allowed to be dispensed therethrough. A locking mechanism selectively engages the carousel to prevent any relative movement of the carousel when the article dispensing unit is not mounted on the main housing and disengages from the carousel to allow intended relative movement when the article dispensing unit is mounted on the main housing.

The medication container may be locked using the locking mechanism. The locked medication container with the medication within may be provided to the user. Subsequent to providing the locked medication container to the user, a request may be received from the user to access the medication in the medication container. A credential may be sent to the user that is usable, via the locking mechanism, to unlock the medication container. The user may then input the credential into the locking mechanism to unlock the medication container and access the medication therein.
