Abstract: A wireless communication system utilizes a synchronization signal block (SSB) structure to enable beam switching at higher sub carrier spacing (SCS) or uplink transmissions within an SSB. The SSB structure has a first SCS for an SSB transmission and a second SCS for a data transmission. The SSB structure is based on the first SCS and the second SCS, with the SSB structure including at least one gap between SSB symbols or between SSBs. The wireless communication system transmits or receives an SSB based on the SSB structure. A base station may transmit a downlink signal during the gap, for example, where the second SCS is much greater than the first SCS. A user equipment may transmit an uplink signal such as an acknowledgment during the at least one gap. The user equipment or the base station may perform analog beam switching during the at least one gap between SSBs.

The base station may adjust the first frequency configuration to a second frequency configuration, and may transmit a retransmission of the message to the UE using the second frequency configuration.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems implementing beamforming, a neighboring base station may cause interference to a user equipment (UE) served by a different base station. To mitigate unexpected interference, an interference coordination region including time and frequency resources may be configured between the base stations. The interference coordination region may be configured based on long-term information for the base stations and may include one or both of a set of beam-avoidance sub-regions or a set of beam-preference sub-regions for a base station, where each sub-region is associated with a beam index. A base station may schedule a communication beam in the interference coordination region based on a beam-avoidance region (e.g., refraining from using a particular communication beam) or a beam-preference region (e.g., prioritizing a particular communication beam). The base station may transmit a message to a UE using the scheduled communication beam.

The first TRP may transmit a signal to the UE indicating that code division multiplexing group hopping is enabled for the first transmission/reception point and the second transmission/reception point. The first TRP may transmit, during a first instance of the code division multiplexing group hopping, a first reference signal to the UE according to a first code division multiplexing group. The first TRP may transmit, during a second instance of the code division multiplexing group hopping, the first reference signal to the UE according to a second code division multiplexing group.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first device may transmit, to a second device, reference signals using combinations of analog beamforming parameters over multiple cycles. The reference signals may be transmitted for different combinations of transmit beamforming parameters and receive beamforming parameters over different cycles of the multiple cycles. The first device may receive, from the second device over the multiple cycles, a set of reports. Each report may indicate combinations of analog beamforming parameters selected for the analog beamforming parameters at the second device. Each combination of analog beamforming parameters may correspond to different cycles of the multiple cycles. The first device may set, for each radio frequency (RF) chain of a plurality of RF chains associated with the first device, a corresponding combination of analog beamforming parameters, and communicate with the second device via two or more beams based on the setting.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for making multi-transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state data scheduling more reliable. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station (BS), a first signal indicative of a plurality of demodulation reference signal (DMRS) ports. The method may also include receiving, from the BS, a second signal indicative of a first spatial state of a physical channel and a second spatial state of the physical channel. The method may also include communicating data over the second subset and not the first subset, based on which of the plurality of DMRS ports are part of the first subset and which of the plurality of DMRS ports are part of the second subset.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may use one or more antenna subarrays to perform a scheduling request (SR) operation with one or more corresponding transmission reception points (TRPs) while operating in a connected discontinuous reception mode. In some implementations, the UE may receive a configuration indicating a set of its antenna subarrays and a corresponding set of the TRPs with which to perform the SR operation. Based on this configuration, the UE may transmit an SR to the set of TRPs using the set of its antenna subarrays, receive an uplink grant from at least one TRP of the set of TRPs, and transmit uplink data to the at least one TRP. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may determine the sets of antenna elements and TRPs for the SR operation autonomously and transmit an indication of this determination when transmitting the SR.

A user equipment (UE) in communication with a serving base station may identify that the UE is a potential victim of interference from a neighboring base station. The UE may transmit an interference coordination message to the neighboring base station. The interference coordination message may request modification of one or more transmission parameters at the neighboring base station. The neighboring base station may modify its transmission parameters to decrease interference with the UE, and the UE may communicate with the serving base station after transmitting the interference coordination message.

A user equipment (UE) may identify a configuration of a set of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) to be transmitted by a first base station or a second base station. In some cases, the UE may be served by the first base station and the UE may receive, from the first base station or the second base station, a message indicating that a transmission of at least one SSB of the set of SSBs is canceled and indicating resources for a signal (e.g., a reference signal, alternative SSB transmission) to be transmitted by the first base station or the second base station as an alternative to the canceled at least one SSB. The UE may receive, based on the received message from the first base station or the second base station, the signal using the indicated resources.
