Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for encoding and decoding images, wherein, if bi-prediction is applied, a weight for a merge candidate is derived, thereby improving the image compression efficiency, and making it possible to efficiently configure a motion vector candidate. A merge candidate list of the current block is produced on the basis of inter-prediction information, and the candidate includes a configured affine merge candidate. If the configured affine merge candidate is produced on the basis of a combination of control points including CP0, weight index information regarding the configured affine merge candidate is produced on the basis of weight index information regarding CP0. If the configured affine merge candidate is produced on the basis of a combination of control points excluding CP0, weight index information regarding the configured affine merge candidate is derived on the basis of weight index information regarding CP1.

Abstract: A video signal processing method comprises obtaining a merge subblock index for a current block for which a parameter for subblock-based inter prediction is derived from a surrounding block; obtaining control point motion vectors for control points of the current block, based on the merge subblock index, the merge subblock index being related to one candidate in a subblock-based merge candidate list; applying one or more offsets to the control point motion vectors, based on a merge with motion vector direction index for refining the control point motion vectors; determining a motion vector for each subblock based on the respective positions of the subblocks in the current block and the control point motion vectors to which the one or more offsets have been applied; and generating prediction samples for the current block based on a reference picture related to the subblock merge index and the motion vectors for each subblock.

Abstract: A method for intra prediction comprises determining a first MPM candidate corresponding to a left-side candidate block on the basis of a position of the left-side candidate block adjacent to a left side of a current block; determining a second MPM candidate corresponding to an upper-end candidate block on the basis of a position of the upper-end candidate block adjacent to an upper end of the current block; generating an MPM candidate list including a plurality of MPM candidates, on the basis of the first MPM candidate and the second MPM candidate; and determining one MPM candidate of the plurality of the MPM candidates that constitute the MPM candidate list as an intra prediction mode of the current block, and performing intra prediction for the current block on the basis of the determined intra prediction mode to generate a prediction block corresponding to the current block.

The bS deriving method includes the steps of: deriving a boundary of a deblocking filtering unit block which is a unit block on which deblocking filtering is performed; and setting a bS for each bS setting unit block in the deblocking filtering unit block. Here, the step of setting the bS includes setting a bS value of a target boundary corresponding to the boundary of the deblocking filtering unit block as the bS setting unit block.

Abstract: An image decoding method comprises the steps of: determining whether or not an application condition of decoder-side motion vector refinement (DMVR) for applying motion vector refinement for a current block is satisfied; deriving a minimum sum of absolute differences (SAD) on the basis of L0 and L1 motion vectors of the current block if the application condition of the DMVR is satisfied; deriving refined L0 and L1 motion vectors of the current block based on the minimum SAD; deriving prediction samples of the current block based on the refined L0 and L1 motion vectors; and generating reconstructed samples of the current block based on the prediction samples. With respect to whether or not the application condition of the DMVR is satisfied, the application condition of the DMVR is determined to be satisfied if a prediction mode, in which inter-prediction and intra-prediction are combined, is not applied to the current block.
