    Abstract: The application provides a beam training method and a communications apparatus. The method includes: generating, by a terminal device, capability indication information, where the capability indication information is used to indicate that the terminal device can support simultaneous beam training in a maximum of N frequency bands, and N is an integer greater than or equal to 1; and sending, by the terminal device, the capability indication information. In this way, the network device may select a plurality of frequency bands at a time based on a capability of the terminal device to simultaneously perform beam training. Therefore, in an embodiments of this application, when the quantity N, of frequency bands for simultaneous training, supported by the terminal device is greater than 1, beam training may be simultaneously performed between the network device and the terminal device in a plurality of frequency bands.

The method includes: determining a first subcarrier spacing from M subcarrier spacings, where the M subcarrier spacings are subcarrier spacings of L carriers used by a terminal device, and L≥M≥2; and determining an effective time of a timing advance (TA) of each of the L carriers based on the first subcarrier spacing.

    Abstract: This application discloses a communication method and a communications apparatus. The method includes: determining, by a terminal device, transmission power for sending a random access preamble, where the transmission power is related to a random access preamble format and an offset based on the random access preamble format; and sending, by the terminal device, the random access preamble at the determined transmission power. The random access preamble format includes some or all of 0 to 3, A0 to A3, B1 to B4, C0, and C2. The corresponding apparatus is further disclosed. In this application, offsets corresponding to a plurality of random access preamble formats in a next-generation mobile communications system are provided, so that the transmission power of the random access preamble can be properly determined.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present application disclose a communication method, including: performing, by a base station, beam scanning and alignment together with first terminal in a first subframe, to determine a beam that is used for sending data in the first subframe; and sending, by the base station, beam information of the beam used for sending data, where the beam information includes at least identification information of the beam and a synchronization signal, the synchronization signal is used by second terminal to synchronize with the base station, and the identification information of the beam is used by the first terminal and the second terminal to identify the beam sent by the base station. According to the present application, a time for scanning and alignment can be reduced, so as to facilitate quick access of a user that is to perform access.
