Abstract:
An image tracking sensor system mounted to an inertial platform generates an analog image displacement signal for passive image stabilization of a scene image viewed from the platform. A radiometric signal having a frequency proportional to the relative motion between the scene image and a reticle is generated by the convolution of the image with the reticle. This signal is detected and electronically processed in a DC squareroot amplifier, a threshold decision logic and an analog to digital converter which generates a digital signal related to image velocity. The digital signal is measured by a digital differential analyzer doppler frequency comparator which generates digital signals defining image velocities relative to boresight. These digital velocities are integrated and displacements accumulated in a digital up-down counter tracking register. The accumulated displacements represent changes of image position relative to boresight. The accumulated digital displacements are read out of the tracking register by means of a digital to analog converter. An analog image displacement signal generated by the digital to analog converter is applied to the inertial platform for gyro-torquing stabilization control thereof.

A system for calculating, analyzing and presenting a chemical analysis of a specimen is comprised of a spectrometer, a converter-control, a computer, programmers, a keyboard, and a display. The format of the presented data the calculation of the specimen data and the analysis of the calculated data are specified by a combination of interrogating signals from the programmers and responsive signals from the keyboard.
Abstract:
A zone grid assembly for flagging specified X,Y memory locations for accumulated data analysis and for presentation on a display in connection with a radioactivity distribution detection system. The zone grid assembly includes a printed circuit board formed with a plurality of holes and a pair of arcuate conductors disposed diametrically opposite one another about the periphery of each hole. A plurality of electrically conducting and magnetically responsive balls are slidably received within the zone grid assembly in such a manner that each ball is adapted for engagement and disengagement with one pair of conductors. A magnetic stylus held in spaced relationship with the zone grid assembly operates to actuate a ball in registration therewith into engagement with its associated pair of conductors. In consequence, the engaged pair of conductors are electrically connected and a signal denoting a particular X,Y position in the zone grid assembly is applied to the memory for processing, each X,Y grid position corresponding to an X,Y address location in the memory.
Abstract:
Radiation emitted from a subject positioned on a programmable X, Y platform is detected by means of an array of sensing devices. The platform, which is in spaced relationship with the subject, is moved along its X and Y axes in incremental steps defining a programmed scanning pattern, each step being an integral multiple of the distance between adjacent sensing devices. The radioactive events, which are detected at each step, are temporarily held in a memory and then stored on a recording medium. Upon completion of the programmed scanning sequence, the stored data which represents the radioactivity detected at each step is recalled from the recording medium and applied to a display via the memory for presentation as a combined pictorial representation of the detected radioactive events at each step.
Abstract:
Infrared radiation is imaged on a film of liquid crystal whose characteristic color is a function of its absolute temperature. A heat exchanger in juxtaposition with the liquid crystal is provided for maintaining the ambient temperature of the liquid crystal at the temperature of maximum sensitivity to infrared radiation. A remote sensor responsive to the characteristic color of the liquid crystal controls the heating and cooling cycles of the heat exchanger. In consequence, the liquid crystal is maintained at the temperature of maximum sensitivity by remote sensing of color balance over the entire useful area of the film.
