Abstract: A web transport sm particularly adapted for use in high resolution photographic printing comprises precise servo systems for feeding, advancing, and taking up negative and copy film and a photographic subsystem for making exposures. A precise feed servo subsystem includes idler air bearings, drive capstans, and digital to analog encoders for advancing negative and copy films. A reel servo subsystem includes feed and take-up spools for supplying and collecting negative and copy films and vacuum wells for maintaining constant tension on the films.
