Abstract: There is a need to support narrowband TDD frame structure for narrowband communications. The present disclosure provides a solution by supporting one or more narrowband TDD frame structure(s) for narrowband communications. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. In one aspect, the apparatus may receive information associated with a narrowband TDD frame structure for narrowband communications, the narrowband TDD frame structure including a set of contiguous uplink subframes. The apparatus may also determine an orthogonal sequence length associated with a reference signal (RS) based on at least one of a number of uplink subframes or a number of slots in the set of contiguous uplink subframes. In addition, the apparatus may transmit the RS using the determined orthogonal sequence length.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for adaptive subcarrier spacing in wireless communication networks are described. Abstract: An apparatus may configure x subframes with a subslot configuration that includes y subslots, y being greater than x. In an aspect, each subslot of the y subslots may include a first portion having one or more symbols for carrying at least one of data or control information, a second portion having a gap, and a third portion for carrying ACK/NACK information associated with the first portion. In an aspect, the second portion may be between the first portion and the third portion. In an aspect, the second portion and the third portion may include at most one symbol. The apparatus may send information indicating the subslot configuration to at least one neighboring base station. The apparatus may communicate content with a user equipment (UE) during at least one of the y subslots.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the disclosure relate to techniques and apparatus for improving random access for SRS switching in a wireless network. Prior to transmitting a SRS, a UE may interrupt communication on a first carrier to switch from the first carrier to a second carrier to transmit a PRACH. To reduce interruption to the first carrier, the UE may use the beginning symbol(s) of a UpPTS on the second carrier to transmit the PRACH. In addition, to reduce interruption to the first carrier, the UE may monitor for another PDCCH order before transmitting another PRACH. Further, aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for jointly triggering SRS transmissions and performing power control for SRS transmissions. A BS may trigger SRS transmissions from multiple UEs, trigger SRS transmissions from multiple carriers from the same UE at the same time and/or perform power control separately for each carrier.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for optimizing real time services (e.g., such as a voice over Long Term Evolution (LTE) (VoLTE)) for devices with limited communications resources, such as machine type communication (MTC) devices and enhanced MTC (eMTC) devices. In one aspect, a UE determines a first configuration of subframes within at least one radio frame available for the UE and other UEs to use for bundled communications with a BS. The UE receives an indication of one or more subframes within the at least one radio frame that are unavailable for bundled uplink transmissions, and determines a second configuration of subframes to use for bundled communications based on the indication. The UE overrides the first configuration of subframes with the second configuration of subframes, and communicates with the BS using the second configuration of subframes.
