    Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to methods, and apparatus for implementing the methods, for using sequence based uplink control information in 5G New Radio wireless communications. The method may include a user equipment (UE) may construct a signal based at least on resource assignment information received from a base station. The resource assignment information received by the UE may indicate frequency resources, a base sequence index, and a shift index. In a non-limiting example, the resource assignment information may include frequency resource assignment information related to one or more clusters. In implementations in which the frequency resource information includes a plurality of clusters, each of the plurality of clusters use a different base sequence and may use the same or different cyclic shifts. These sequences may be multiplexed in a non-orthogonal manner. The UE may use the resource assignment information to transmit the constructed signal to the base station.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure implement techniques for power control management between the base station and the UE to support multiple waveforms and services. In one example, the power control management system may implement independent power control loops for each waveform and service (e.g., eMBB, uRLLC, etc.) supported by the wireless communication system. For example, the base station may transmit a first power control command to a UE for first waveform (e.g., CP-OFDM) or service (e.g., eMBB) and a second power control command to the UE for the second waveform (DFT-OFDM) or service (e.g., uRLLC). Features of the present disclosure may also implement techniques that allow the base station to transmit a single power control command for configuring the power control for a plurality of waveforms or services. Upon receiving the power control commands, the UE may configure the transmission power for uplink traffic based on the power control commands.

    Abstract: Techniques for signaling dynamic control region for PRACH transmission are described. In an aspect, the disclosure describes a method for receiving, at a user equipment (UE), an indication of a number of control symbols that the UE is to assume when transmitting physical random access channel (PRACH), and transmitting, by the UE, the PRACH over one or more slots based on the number of control symbols. In another aspect, the disclosure describes a method for generating, at a network device, an indication of a number of control symbols that a UE is to assume when transmitting PRACH, transmitting, by the network device, the indication to the UE. A UE and network device configuration as well as apparatuses and computer-readable medium related to these methods are also described.

    Abstract: The duration of variable length uplink control channels may vary over a wide range. Transmissions related to overhead may take up a larger percentage of symbols for shorter durations of the variable length uplink control channel. Disabling intra-slot hopping may be beneficial to decrease overhead (as a percentage). The apparatus may be an apparatus for wireless communication. The apparatus may include a transmitter or receiver and a processing system. The processing system may be configured to determine whether or not to use intra-slot frequency hopping for a variable length uplink control channel, and communicate information to the transmitter for transmission over the variable length uplink control channel or receive information from the receiver. The information may be received over the variable length uplink control channel, the information transmitted by the transmitter or received by the receiver based on the determination of whether or not to use intra-slot frequency hopping.

    Abstract: Adjacent channel leakage-power ratio (ACLR) can be reduced at a transmitter of a device. A modulated signal can be mapped into a plurality of tone sets in a frequency domain, wherein the plurality of tone sets include a first, a second, and a third set of tones. The first and the third set of tones can be converted in the frequency domain to a fourth and a fifth set of tones, respectively, in a time domain. A zero padding of one or more symbols associated with the fourth and the fifth set of tones can be performed to output a sixth and a seventh set of tones, respectively. The sixth and the seventh set of tones can be converted to an eighth and a ninth set of tones, respectively, in the frequency domain. The eighth and the ninth set of tones can be processed for transmitting to another wireless device.

    Abstract: There is a need to support narrowband TDD frame structure for narrowband communications. The present disclosure provides a solution by supporting one or more narrowband TDD frame structure(s) for narrowband communications. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may receive information associated with a narrowband TDD frame structure for narrowband communications. The apparatus may transmit a first symbol group of a first narrowband physical random access channel (NPRACH) preamble to a base station. In one aspect, a first length of the first symbol group may be associated with the narrowband TDD frame structure.
