Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for co-existence of reliable low-latency and other services in a wireless network. According to certain aspects, a method of wireless communication by a base station is provided. The method generally includes reserving a first region of a set of resources to a first user for at least a first uplink transmission related to a first type of service, receiving the first uplink transmission in the reserved first region, and dynamically assigning resources in a second region of the set of resources for at least a second uplink transmission related to the first type of service.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for performing paging and/or random access procedures with multiple physical resource blocks (PRBs) for narrowband (NB) internet-of-things (IoT). In one aspect, a method is provided which may be performed by a base station. The method generally includes determining a first set of resources and a second set of resources available for narrowband communications with one or more first user equipments (UEs) and one or more second UEs. The method also includes allocating the first and second set of resources to one or more of the first UEs and the second UEs based at least in part on a type of the first UEs and a type of the second UEs. The method further includes signaling an indication of the allocation.

Abstract: Mechanisms for reduction of channel state information (CSI) feedback overhead are disclosed for full dimensional multiple input, multiple output (FD-MIMO) systems with large dimension antenna ports. In one aspect, rank-dependent CSI antenna port measurements are used in order to limit the number of antenna ports for high rank CSI reporting. Another aspect allows a user equipment (UE) to select subband feedback for aperiodic CSI porting on an uplink shared channel when the UE is to report subband quality and precoding indicators. Another aspect provides for on-demand CSI feedback that dynamically configures CSI feedback parameters. To reduce the signaling overhead, the multiple parameter sets may be pre-configured with different values for dynamic reporting parameters.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for flexible bandwidth operation in a wireless communication network are provided. A User Equipment (UE) monitors a first set of resources for a first control channel in a first bandwidth region. In response, to detecting the first control channel, the UE monitors a second set of resources in a second bandwidth region for at least one of control information or data, the second bandwidth region larger than the first bandwidth region, wherein the monitoring the second set of resources for the control information includes monitoring the second set of resources for a second control channel for receiving the control information scheduling resources for receiving the data.

Abstract: Enhanced channel state information (CSI) feedback is disclosed for full dimensional multiple input, multiple output (FD-MIMO) operations. In one aspect, a single CSI process is defined that is configured with an azimuth and elevation CSI-reference signal (RS) ports. A user equipment (UE) will send a precoding matrix indictor (PMI) report including a precoding matrix indicator (PMI) for the azimuth ports and a PMI for the elevation ports. One of the PMIs is assigned a low rank. The base station will use the two PMIs to create a whole channel precoding matrix. In another aspect, a single CSI process is configured having a plurality of CSI-RS resources. The UE generates channel measurement information for each of the CSI-RS resources, but only sets a CSI report to the base station of a subset of the total number of resources.

Abstract: In order to reduce ambiguity in NB-SSS and complexity of receiver processing, a transmitter apparatus generates an SSS, wherein the SSS signal comprises a sequence of OFDM symbols, wherein each symbol of the sequence of SSS symbols is mapped to a codeword symbol of an FEC code. Source symbols of the sequence of SSS symbols carry a PCID and frame timing information, and parity symbols of the sequence of SSS symbols introduce redundancy and coding gain. A receiver receives the NB-SSS over multiple OFDM symbols, each symbol of the SSS comprising a short ZC sequence with a combination of root index and cyclic shift. The apparatus derives path metrics using cross-correlation for each of the plurality of symbols, determines a candidate SSS source message based on the derived path metrics and coding constraints of FEC codewords, and identifies a PCID and timing information based on the candidate SSS source message.
