Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for retransmission of a communication by a relay node based on a failure of a target node to receive the communication. In some aspects, the relay node may determine that the second wireless node has failed to receive the second communication, or an upstream wireless node (such as a distributed unit) may determine that the target node has failed to receive the communication. The relay node may retransmit the communication based on such a determination. In some aspects, the relay node may buffer the communication or information used to generate the communication, and may retransmit the buffered communication. In some aspects, a configuration for the retransmission may be modified based on a capability of the relay node or another concern.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for reporting of a beam correspondence state. Certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication by a first wireless device. The method includes, based on detecting the occurrence of a triggering event, determining one or more beam correspondence states for one or more beams or portions of beams used by the first wireless device for communication. The method further includes transmitting one or more indications of the one or more beam correspondence states to a second wireless device, wherein the one or more indications of the one or more beam correspondence states indicate whether the first wireless device has the capability of beam correspondence between the one or more beams and corresponding one or more transmit or receive beams used by the first wireless device for communication.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may initiate a beam management procedure, including reference signal transmission to a user equipment (UE) and receive beam training. A base station may configure a UE to monitor a set of beams for reference signals. Based on the received reference signals, the UE may optionally select one or more transmit beams for wakeup signal reception, and may transmit an indication of the selected beams to the base station. The base station may transmit a wakeup signal over the originally configured or the UE-selected transmit beams to initiate wake-up procedure at the UE. The base station and UE may subsequently perform a refined beam management procedure, providing a refined reference signal transmission from the base station. Based on the received transmission, the UE may select a refined beam for downlink transmissions.

The handover procedure may not include random access channel (RACH) transmissions, and thus may be a localized RACH-less handover. The UE may initiate handover to a new base station based on the relative location of the UE and the new base station, some predetermined time, or based on the characteristics of the signals from each base station.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device may identify a set of power configurations for a plurality of communications with at least one target device. The set of power configurations may be based at least in part on a type of signal, a type of channel, a parameter of the wireless device, a parameter of the target device, or a combination thereof. The wireless device may then determine a duplexing mode for the plurality of communications based at least in part on the set of power configurations. The duplexing mode may be, for example, a full duplex mode or a half-duplex mode. The wireless device may then transmit the plurality of communications to and/or receive the plurality of communications from the at least one target device according to the set of power configurations and the selected duplexing mode.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for performing a beam recovery procedure using a second CC are disclosed. A UE may perform a beam recovery procedure using two component carriers (CCs): for example, first component carrier may be a beam formed millimeter wave (MMW) carrier having a beam recovery procedure and second component carrier may be an assisting carrier such as a sub-6 GHz carrier or a different MMW carrier. In a first example, a UE may trigger beam recovery for first component carrier (on second component carrier), generate a beam measurement report, and transmit the beam report on resources allocated for uplink transmission on second component carrier. In a second example, a new scheduling request (SR) may be defined on first component carrier for second component carrier beam recovery. In a third example, RACH resources or procedures on second component carrier may be used to perform the beam recovery for first component carrier.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless node may identify a first set of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs), within a synchronization signal (SS) burst set, that are used to indicate random access channel (RACH) occasions for a first wireless link type, the SS burst set including a second set of SSBs used to indicate RACH occasions for a second wireless link type; and transmit a RACH message in a RACH occasion corresponding to an SSB included in the first set of SSBs. In some aspects, a wireless node may configure an SS burst set to include a first set of SSBs to be used to indicate RACH occasions for a first wireless link type, and a second set of SSBs to be used to indicate RACH occasions for a second wireless link type; and transmit the SS burst set. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for signaling and switching of beam pair links (BPLs) for directional transmission beams between a base station and a user equipment (UE). A threshold value may be determined, which corresponds to an amount of time for a UE to receive and decode control information, and apply a different BPL than a current BPL that that is in use. The UE may maintain a BPL for data, which is used during data transmission time intervals (TTIs) until an indication is received to change the BPL for data. The UE and the base station may determine to change between BPLs based at least in part on the threshold value and a scheduling offset between a control channel transmission that allocates resources for a data TTI and a start of the data TTI.
