Abstract: A sheet discharging device includes a stacking portion configured to stack a sheet; a discharging portion configured to feed the sheet so as to be discharged to the stacking portion, wherein the discharging portion includes a first roller configured to feed the sheet and a second roller provided so as to be contactable to a sheet surface opposite from another sheet surface to which the first roller is contactable to; and an electrically discharging member configured to electrically discharge the sheet in contact with the sheet fed by the discharging portion. As viewed in a widthwise direction perpendicular to a discharging direction of the sheet, the electrically discharging member is provided so as to extend through between rotational axes of the first and second rollers in the discharging direction of the sheet.

Abstract: A sheet stacking apparatus includes a discharging portion including a nip portion nipping and conveying a sheet, a stacking portion on which the sheet discharged by the discharging portion is stacked, an air blowing unit configured to blow air toward a lower face of the sheet being discharged by the discharging portion, and an air volume control portion configured to control the air blowing unit such that a volume of the air blown by the air blowing unit is switched from a first air volume to a second air volume which is smaller than the first air volume while the nip portion of the discharging portion is nipping and conveying the sheet to set the volume of the air to the second air volume in a case where a trailing end of the sheet discharged by the discharging portion passes through the nip portion.

Abstract: A media stacker (100) comprises a stacking platform (102), a feed mechanism (104), a media arresting mechanism (106) and a controller (108). The feed mechanism conveys media sheets for dispensing onto the stacking platform, wherein the media sheets are dispensed onto the stacking platform with a momentum imparted by the feed mechanism. The media arresting mechanism reduces the momentum of media sheets. The controller determines that a trailing edge of a media sheet is to be dispensed onto the stacking platform, and further control the media arresting apparatus to reduce the momentum of the media sheet in response to the determination.

Abstract: A sheet processing apparatus is provided with a carry-in path for guiding a sheet from a carry-in entrance, a shift roller provided in the carry-in path to transport the sheet, while shifting, a carry-in roller positioned on the downstream side of the shift roller to carry the sheet from the carry-in path toward a collection tray, and a punch shift unit provided on the upstream side of the carry-in roller to process an end portion of the sheet in a processing position. The punch shift unit shifts in the same direction as the shift roller, a shift amount of the punch shift unit is set to be equal to a shift amount of the shift roller or more, and the end portion processing unit is thereby already positioned in an end portion processing position or a position near the processing position after shifting the sheet.
