    Abstract: A handheld aerosol-generating device may include an emitter configured to emit light, a sensor configured to receive light, and an aerosol chamber configured to hold an aerosol. The emitter may emit light into the aerosol chamber. The sensor may receive light from the aerosol chamber and measure at least one wavelength of the spectrum of the received light. Direct measurement of parameters, and/or the presence, of the aerosol in the aerosol chamber may be enabled, where the direct measurement of parameters of the aerosol in the aerosol chamber may enable optimal operation of an aerosol-generating system that may be the handheld aerosol-generating device.

    Abstract: An aerosol container includes a main body portion that is constructed and arranged to withstand aerosol pressurization within a range that is about 90-180 prig and a threaded finish portion that is unitary with the main body portion. The threaded finish portion has at least one helical thread, a support ledge beneath the helical thread and a secondary flange that is positioned beneath the support ledge. The secondary flange has an outer circumference that is noncircular in at least one location, whereby it may be engaged during a capping operation to prevent rotation of the container during capping. A method of making an aerosol container in which a preform is capped before the blow molding process is also disclosed.

    Abstract: Provided is a two fluid discharge container comprising: a container body; a piston partitioned by a first storage part and a second storage part, which are accommodated in the container body and are each to be filled with content, and a pressurized space to be filled with a pressurizing agent; and a valve mechanism that closes an opening in the container body, and has a passage through which the first storage part and the second storage part communicate. The first storage part and the second storage part are concentrically formed, and the contents of the first storage part and the second storage part are simultaneously pressurized by the piston so as to be discharged.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a valve cup (10) for use with a container (30) for dispensing a fluid medium stored under pressure. The valve cup (10) supports a valve (50) and seals an opening (32) of the container (30) and is formed from a semi-crystalline polyester. The present invention also provides a container (30), wherein at least a part of the container (30) surrounding an opening (32) is formed from a semi-crystal-line polyester. A further valve cup (10) is formed from a metal or rigid material and further includes a polyester lining (70). Dispensing systems (1) including the above containers (30) and valve cups (10) are provided, wherein welding is facilitated between the container (30) and valve cups (10).
