The fluorescent lamp holder assembly generally includes a fluorescent lamp surrounded by a protective sleeve. A first end cap covers a first end of the lamp and sleeve, while a second end cap structure comprising a power connector cap and tube power connector cap covers a second end of the lamp and sleeve.

摘要： A lamp housing to support and power a compact dual or quad-tube fluorescent lamp. A body portion with a central cavity receives the lamp base and selectively retains same using a trapped metal clip; contacts mounted in separated cavities receive the lamp leads at a first end and at the second end the bared end of an electrical conductor inserted into a one way type clutch contact lever to apply AC power to the lampleads. The contact lever can be bifurcated to independently engage more than a single conductor. The lamphousing can be mounted to a panel using fasteners extending through apertures in mounting pads of the base, or by using flexible mounting tabs to grip the underside of a mounting panel or a combination of the flexible mounting tabs and flexible arms to permit the lampholder to be mounted on panels of different thicknesses.

摘要： An adapter for lamps and other electrical devices to be installed in standard lampsockets which prevents unauthorized removal of such lamps or other electrical devices. A screwshell means is placed upon a body member such that relative rotation between them is possible. A tool or key placed in aligned slots or keyways prevents relative rotation so that the adapter can be installed or removed from a lampsocket. The tool or key is then removed permitting relative rotation again, whereby the lamp or other electrical device cannot be removed from the lampsocket. Use of the tool or key fixes the two components with respect to one another and the adapter can be removed.

The extension brackets of the invention attach by interference fit to standard cutouts in standard lampholder brackets, which cutouts normally attach conventional "tombstone" T12 lampholders, the extension brackets further acting to mount conventional lampholders capable of mounting the metric lamping at locations disposed inwardly of the fixtures to accommodate the several conventional lengths of metric lamping or the like while locating the metric lamping on a plane no higher than that of the conventional lamping for which the lighting fixtures are originally configured.

摘要： A lamp socket is adapted for receiving a fluorescent lamp of the type which has a pair of parallel contact pins extending axially from opposite ends thereof. The lamp is adapted to be moved at a right angle to its longitudinal axis into the socket. A socket housing has a pair of generally parallel slots for receiving the contact pins as the pins are moved into the slots in a direction generally perpendicular to the axes of the pins. A pair of terminals are mounted in the socket housing respectively exposed in the slots for engagement by the contact pins. A lever is pivotally mounted on the socket housing and includes blocking portions aligned with the slots. The lever is pivotable between a first position wherein the blocking portions are removed from the slots to allow movement of the contact pins into the slots and a second position wherein the blocking portions block the slots to prevent movement of the contact pins out of the slots. The terminals include spring portions for biasing the lever toward its second position. The lever includes notches for receiving the contact pins in a preliminary position preparatory to moving the pins fully into the slots.

摘要： An improved fluorescent light adapter for incandescent light fixtures. The adapter may be directly wired in to the Edison light fixture, and also includes locking structure to prevent theft. Specifically, the adapter includes a lower housing with a plurality of channels, some of which include locking ramps for mating with inwardly directed teeth on the lower sleeve portion of a standard Edison light fixture. To retrofit an existing light, the standard Edison socket is disassembled and the adapter is simply pressed downward locking onto the lower sleeve. The adapter may be provided with an on/off switch or a three-way switch, and includes a variable height neck portion for adapting to a variety of lamp shades and harps.

摘要： A compact fluorescent lamp includes a body and a detachable fluorescent lamp unit. An Edison base is provided on the body to enable the lamp to be installed in an incandescent lighting fixture having an Edison screw-in socket. The body also includes an interchangeable socket insert which is adapted to receive the mounting base of the lamp unit. The socket insert may have different socket configurations to be compatible with conventional lamp units having different types of mounting bases and different power output ratings. The lamp unit includes a plurality of lamp tubes which extend parallel to each other from the mounting base. When the lamp is installed in the Edison socket, the lamp tubes are inclined downward from the horizontal at a small angle. In addition, the lamp tubes are oriented at an angle of approximately 45.degree. relative to the horizontal, both above and below the lamp to provide enhanced light distribution.
