    摘要: A cable end receptacle connector includes a metal shell receiving a nonconductive body therein. The body has a cavity defined in a rear face thereof and a plurality of channels defined in a front face thereof in communication with the cavity. Each channel receives and retains a contact terminal therein. A cover member is fixed to the rear face of the body and substantially blocks the cavity. The cover member has a plurality of slots defined between spaced wall segments for receiving reduced sections of the corresponding contact terminals therein thereby securely retaining the contact terminals and effectively resisting an external load applied thereto. The cover member has a rear projection defining a plurality of spaced grooves therein for receiving and containing tail sections of the corresponding contact terminals. The tail sections are soldered to wires and the grooves confine excess molten soldering material that attaches the wires to the contact terminals. Thus, the soldering material is prevented from electrically connecting adjacent contact terminals.

    摘要: A dielectric insert of an electrical connector is retained within a metal shell by a plurality of latching ledges formed integrally with said insert member spaced about the periphery of the outer surface thereof and facing the trailing end during insertion into the shell member, to latchingly engage with corresponding stop surfaces defined along inside surfaces of the metal shell facing the direction opposite from the latching ledges. A lip about the periphery of the trailing end of the insert member engages the leading edge of the shell to define a second stop means, preventing insert movement in both axial directions. The insert is dimensioned for the latching projections defining the latching ledges to be compressed during insertion by bearing against the inside surfaces of the shell member until fully inserted into the shell cavity.

After connection to the lead by crimping the first ring (2), the sleeve is moved axially so as to uncover the coupling zone, i.e. until the second ring fits into the end portion of the sleeve against the second step (11).

    摘要: An electrical connector includes a connector housing having a passageway extending therethrough in which a terminal housing is disposed. The terminal housing engages a stop surface in the passageway limiting the forward movement of the terminal housing in the passageway. A retaining member has a transverse section seated in an aperture in the connector housing. Retaining legs extend outwardly from the transverse section and inwardly into the connector housing passageway into engagement with a transverse rib on the terminal housing to retain the terminal housing in position in the passageway against the stop surface. Spring legs and projections extend outwardly from the retaining member and engage an inside surface of the connector housing adjacent the aperture thereby retaining the retaining member in position in the aperture and on the connector housing and the spring legs coupled with the retaining legs providing spring operation for the retaining member.

    摘要: A connector retaining apparatus for retaining an insulator in the bore of a connector shell includes an insulator with an annular flange defining a rear facing shoulder, a connector shell having an interior cylindrical surface with an annular groove therein to define a front facing retention shoulder, and an annular retaining ring around the insulator. The retaining ring has a radial portion which abuts against the rear facing shoulder of the insulator annular flange and a frusto-conical portion with a retention edge which abuts against the front facing retaining shoulder of the connector shell groove in its retaining position to prevent the insulator from being withdrawn rearwardly from the connector shell bore. A cylindrical insertion tool is utilized to press the retention ring through an annular space between the insulator's outside surface and the connector shell's inside surface into its retaining position.

    摘要: A fiber optic connector member having a removable front plate for protecting the faces of optical fibers mounted within the connector. The plate is retained within the connector shell by a resilient retention finger. The finger extends into a T-shaped slot formed on the outer surface of the plate. The slot opens at the front face of the plate. An extraction tool is disclosed which may be inserted into the slot to release the retention finger and grip shoulders formed on the sides of the slot allowing the plate to be withdrawn from the connector shell by pulling the tool forwardly of the connector.
