摘要: An electronic component mounting apparatus for determining whether or not a nozzle replacement operation is successfully performed. A horizontal array of nozzles are accommodated in the holder in a nozzle stocker, and a light emitting device and a light receiving device are arranged so that the light path between both runs above the nozzles. The nozzle stocker is arranged in a travel path of a feeding head. The nozzle mount of the feeding head returns a used nozzle into the holder or mounts a new nozzle thereon. When any nozzle remains lifted from the holder intercepting the light path, a returning operation of the used nozzle is determined to be a failure. When a nozzle replacement is performed, its success or failure is reliably determined by detecting a intercepting height of light and release height of light by the nozzle and nozzle mount, respectively.

A first guide rail is provided along a downwardly inclined camming surface of a cam member extending from the vicinity above a soak stage to a vicinity above a measuring section, and a second guide rail is provided along an upwardly inclined camming surface of the cam member extending from the vicinity above the measuring section to the vicinity above the exit stage. In addition, on the opposite side of a cam holder about the rotary shaft of the rotary arm unit is placed an arcuate dropping preventive plate mounted to the props depending from the ceiling insulation wall of the constant temperature chamber like the cam holder. Further, a hook is mounted to the upper portion of each of the device chucks. The hook can slide on any one of the first guide rail, the second guide rail, and the dropping preventive plate in the manner engaged therewith when an accident occurs.

摘要: A mounting head, a mounting apparatus, and a mounting method which are capable of contacting an electronic component with a substrate with a small contact load and mounting the component on the substrate, are provided. A suction device 120 is fit on a splined axis portion 118 of a support shaft 84 via a ball spline 126, is biased downward by a first spring 130, and is biased upward by a second spring 134. A suction nozzle 124 is attached to a nozzle holder 122 by engaging engagement ridges 172 of sheet springs 166 fixed to the suction nozzle 124 with engagement grooves 144 of the nozzle holder 122, respectively. Prior to the mounting of electronic components 178, a relationship between contact load and position of lift 28 is obtained, and a position to which the lift 28 is moved downward for mounting each electronic component 178 is pre-determined. Thus, each component 178 is contacted with a printed circuit board with an appropriate load. Each component 178 is contacted with the circuit board with a small load, by removing the self weight of the suction device 120 owing to the biasing action of the second spring 134 and reducing the frictional resistance produced between the suction device 120 and the axis member 84 owing to the provision of the ball spline 126.

摘要: An improved actuator stem and actuator design are provided that greatly increase the accuracy of actuator type precision operations, such as surface mounted electrical component placement, die and attach tooling movements, and tape and reel part storage tooling. The actuator includes a housing having an inner surface and containing a first opening, a stem having a first end, an axis passing through said first end, and a cross section perpendicular to the axis having at least one edge. The stem is slidably disposed in the housing with the first end extending through the first opening substantially parallel to the axis. The stem is actuated along the axis by conventional methods, such as a spring. A portion of the inner surface conforms to a portion the cross section of the stem so as to prevent the stem from rotating about the axis. In a preferred embodiment, the stem has a D-shaped cross section perpendicular to the stem axis over the entire length of the stem in the direction of the axis. Alternatively, the cross section can be other shapes having an edge and need not have the same shape cross section of the entire length of the stem. In a preferred embodiment for a pick and place machine, the stem of the actuator is in the form of a D-shaped nozzle that is used in conjunction with a spring actuated stationary head to provide significantly increased performance levels.

摘要: There is disclosed an automatic electronic part-mounting apparatus in which acceleration, acting on electronic parts, suction-held respectively by mounting heads, is reduced, thereby enabling stable mounting of the electronic parts. Cam levers 10 are pivotally mounted through respective pivot shafts 9 on a rotary member 8 which is rotated at a constant speed by a roller gear cam 19. One end of the cam lever is engaged with a fixed cam 7 whereas the other end thereof is slidably mounted through cam followers on a follower lever 12 slidably mounted on annular rails 11 in a housing 6. One end of the follower lever 12 is slidably engaged with a cam follower, and the other end of the follower lever 12 is mounted on each mounting head 13. With this construction, the acceleration of the mounting head 13 can be reduced.
