摘要: An electrical connector system for electrically interconnecting electrically conductive paths of a first circuit with corresponding electrically conductive paths of a second circuit. The system includes backer structure with guide structure that is adapted to receive a first circuit which has a first array of pad-type contacts, and a cooperating connector assembly component that includes contact carrier structure with camming structure and that is adapted to receive a second circuit which has a second array of pad-type contacts corresponding to the pad-type contacts of the first array, and actuator structure that includes camming structure for interaction with camming structure of the contact carrier structure. Elastomeric foam structure interconnects the actuator and said contact carrier structures in a manner enabling the camming structures to engage. First guide structure associated with the actuator structure allows restrained movement of the actuator structure towards the backer structure, and second guide structure cooperating between the contact carrier structure and the backer structure allows translational movement of the contact carrier structure while maintaining the pad-type conatcts of the first and second circuits in alignment as the actuator structure causes the camming structures to concurrently compress the elastomeric coupling member and produce lateral movement of the contact carrier structure parallel to the plane of the pad-type conatacts in wiping action as guided by the engaged guide structures.

摘要: Terminals for a socket connector suitable for use in establishing interconnection to a plurality of closely spaced surface pad portions of traces on a circuit panel are disclosed. This socket connector is suitable for use with a high density single in-line memory module. The individual terminals are edge stamped from a spring metal blank and inserted in closely spaced centerlines and cavities in the housing. Insertion of a circuit panel edgewise into the connector biases the terminals outwardly with the stresses primarily confined to the plane of the spring metal blank. The terminals are inserted from above and positively retained within the housing. Low insertion forces, together with a wiping action between the terminals and the surface pad portions of traces on the circuit panel is achieved.

摘要: A novel zero insertion (and removal) force multi-pin coaxial connector for providing connections via controlled impedance paths is formed using a conductive elastomer as a frame (8) which forms the shield of a plurality of coaxial connectors and a plurality of circular openings formed in the conductive elastomer frame, each said opening corresponding to a single coaxial connection. An annular insulating ring (5), which forms the dielectric of an associated one of the coaxial connectors, is located in each annular opening of the conductive elastomer frame and an elastomer through-conductive member (6) which forms the center conductor of its associated coaxial connector is located within the circular opening of each insulating ring. In this manner, the conductive elastomer frame forms the shield of a plurality of coaxial connectors. A connector board for use with a plurality of coaxial cables is designed such that it will properly mate with the conductive elastomer frame and conductive elastomer through-conductive members, thus connecting the plurality of coaxial cables to one side of their associated coaxial connectors within the conductive elastomer frame. The connector board contains a plurality of conductive paths which are formed so as to properly abut the conductive elastomer frame and the elastomer through-conductive members of the coaxial connector. In this manner, each coaxial cable is connected through the zero insertion force multi-pin connector to their associated conductive paths on the printed circuit board. Alternatively, the multi-pin connector is used to connect two printed circuit boards.

摘要: A printed wiring board (20) and connector (12) apparatus in which a coordinate array of terminal contact areas (22) on the board (20) make only simultaneous and exclusive electrical contact with a corresponding array of connector contact springs (24). Premature and unwanted electrical contacts are prevented as the board (20) is moved into association with the connector (12) by cams (23) protruding from the board (20) which maintain a separation between the board contact areas (22) and the connector springs (24) until full movement of the board is completed. At this point, the cams (23) are seated in corresponding recesses (26) provided therefor in the connector (12) surface to permit the mating of contact areas and springs.

摘要: An electrical connector with zero insertion force for mechanically supporting and contacting the conductive fingers of printed circuit boards, liquid crystal plates, and like contact carriers. The connector is comprised of an elongated connector body, an elongated clamping member, and a clamping means to clamp the body and member toward one another with the contact carrier sandwiched therebetween. In a preferred embodiment, the connector body contains a plurality of electrical spring contacts, a portion of each contact extending slightly beyond one lateral sidewall of the body and positioned to contact one of the fingers of the contact carrier when the latter lies adjacent the sidewall. The clamping means serves to draw the body and member toward one another, thereby effecting movement of the contact carrier against the biasing force of the spring contacts and into a surface-to-surface engagement with the sidewall of the body. In the assembled condition, the contact carrier is clamped between the connector body and clamping member with the fingers in firm electrical contact with the spring contacts.

摘要: A lens assembly includes a lens, a lens barrel, and a heater element. The lens has an inner surface and an outer surface. The lens barrel supports the lens and defines an optical axis, the lens arranged along the optical axis such that the inner surface of the lens is within the lens barrel and the outer surface of the lens is outside the lens barrel. The heater element is in intimate mechanical communication with the inner surface of the lens and has a heater element electrical lead extending radially therefrom to provide power to the heater element. Lens heating methods are also described.

摘要: A socket connector includes a socket substrate having first socket substrate conductors and second socket substrate conductors, receptacle contacts electrically coupled to corresponding first socket substrate conductors and socket contacts electrically coupled to corresponding second socket substrate conductors. The receptacle contacts have receptacles receiving pin contacts of an electronic package and the socket contacts have terminating ends and mating ends with deflectable spring beams terminated to package contacts of the electronic package. At least one of the first socket substrate conductors and the second socket substrate conductors are configured to electrically connect the electronic package with the host circuit board.
