Abstract:
A system for generating infrared light includes a sealed housing and a noble gas filling the housing. A window disposed in a wall of the housing is transparent to infrared radiation. Two electrodes, disposed in the housing, are aligned along a common longitudinal axis adapted to be approximately perpendicular to a local force of gravity. A gap is defined between the electrodes along the longitudinal axis. Obstruction(s), disposed in the housing adjacent to the gap between the electrodes, extend along the length of the gap. The obstruction(s) define a convection space between the electrodes. The convection space has a dimension, measured perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, in the range of 2 to 10 times the length of the gap. An electric current source is coupled to the electrodes.
Abstract:
A projection image display device includes an indoor unit to be located indoors and an outdoor unit to be located outdoors. The outdoor unit includes a second refrigerant piping that forms a loop refrigerant path in combination with a first refrigerant piping, a cooling device, and a cooling control circuit that controls cooling for R, G, B laser heat sinks by the cooling device. The indoor unit includes a main control circuit that communicates with the cooling control circuit to control the cooling by the cooling device.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an apparatus and associated method for emitting electromagnetic radiation. The apparatus has at least one electromagnetic radiation emitter and a base. The base has four electrical contacts and an identification device. Two of the electrical contacts are in electrical communication with the at least one electromagnetic radiation emitter. The other two electrical contacts are in electrical communication with the identification device.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus having an envelope formed by first and second substrates disposed at a predetermined distance therebetween and image forming means disposed in the envelope, wherein a heat insulating member is disposed on a surface of the envelope in an area excepting partial surface areas of the first and second substrates.
