Abstract:
A system is provided for supporting an arm of a user that includes a harness configured to be worn by the user, and an arm support coupled to the harness and including an arm rest to support an arm of the user. The arm support is configured to accommodate and follow movement of the arm without substantially interfering in such movement. The arm support may at least partially offset a gravitational force acting on the arm as the user moves and the arm support follows the movement of the user's arm. For example, the arm support may transfer at least a portion of the weight of the user's arm to the torso or other region of the user's body and/or may apply an opposing force to at least partially offset the gravitational force acting on the arm.
Abstract:
A handheld, electromechanical device useful in mammalian body-care includes a one-piece housing, a unitary insert, and a removable cover. The one-piece housing has a single opening defined by a rim. The rim circumscribes a rim area, and the one-piece housing has a projected area that is substantially larger than the rim area. The unitary insert is dimensioned to be insertable through the opening defined by the rim, and it has a frame having disposed thereon electromechanical elements interconnected in an electrical circuit. The cover is arranged and configured to close the opening of the one-piece housing.
Abstract:
A clamping-style neck-back-waist-leg massager includes: a frame flanked by two handles; a central shaft pivotally connected to a rotational center of a torsional spring; a right clamper having leftward a pivot ear hole pivotally connected to the central shaft and abutted against a first free end of the torsional spring and having rightward a free end bending away from the corresponding handle; a left clamper having rightward a pivot ear hole pivotally connected to the central shaft and abutted against a second free end of the torsional spring and having leftward a free end bending away from the corresponding handle. The free ends of the right and left clampers approach each other to effectuate clamping. The right and left clampers have therein first and second massaging sets extending outward to form first and second massaging units, respectively, for performing fixed-point or transverse massage on the neck, back, waist, and legs.
Abstract:
The invention is a method consisting of stimulation of specific new acupuncture points to prevent, detect, treat and heal specific types of neoplastic process in humans. The specific acupuncture points used in the method of the invention have not been previously disclosed for the treatment of neoplastic processes. The treatments can be carried out by accredited practitioners in a clinical setting or by the patient her/himself at home. The stimulation can be provided by any of the known techniques used for stimulation of controlling points, including, but not limited to, traditional acupuncture needles, auto-injector needles, electric acupuncture, acupressure, lasers, acupuncture lasers, UV radiation, infra-red radiation, heat, magnets, moxibustion, and a combination of two or more of these techniques, for example, the use of both needles and laser acupuncture simultaneously in a single treatment session. The method of the invention is also used for detection and prevention of neoplastic process.
Abstract:
A skin treatment apparatus (1) for treating a skin surface, comprising: a hand held base body (10); a rotor head (20), movably connected to the base body (10), and including at least one skin contacting element (22); a motor (30), operably connected to both the base body (10) and the rotor head (20), and configured to rotatably drive the rotor head (20) relative to the base body (10) around a rotation axis (L); at least one motion sensor (40), configured to generate a movement signal reflecting a path of relative movement between the motion sensor and the skin surface; and a control unit (50), operably connected to the at least one motion sensor (40) and the motor (30), and configured to control the motor (30) to rotatably drive the rotor head (20) in dependence of the movement signal of the at least one motion sensor (40).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for foot zone therapy. The device includes a frame (1, 11), and a base (2, 12) provided with knobs (3a) for pressing the foot sole against. The knobs (3a) are laid out in an area essentially consistent with the length and shape of a foot sole. The base (2, 12) is either a rotatable roll (2) or a panel (12) divided for discrete zones (A, B. C, D), whereby rotating the roll or changing a relative height position of the zones in the flat panel enables the foot sole to be contacted alternately with various knobby zones. The device is adapted for such an operation that the effect of the knobs (3a) always proceeds from heel towards toes.
Abstract:
Provided is an automatic head care device that can reliably care a person's rear head. The automatic head care device includes a rear-head care unit, the rear-head care unit including contact units, each unit having a rotation gear rotating a plurality of contacts around a central axis of the rotation gear, a third arm rotatably holding the contact units, a cylindrical rack held between the contact units to be movable in an axial direction of the cylindrical rack, the cylindrical rack moving in the axial direction to rotate the rotation gears in opposite directions, and a motor for oscillating the contacts of the contact units by moving the cylindrical rack.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a massage apparatus in which a plurality of acupressure assemblies apply acupressure to the human body in close contact with the human body and move individually or in connection with each other, thereby inducing a user's joints to exercise.According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a massage apparatus comprising: a support frame; and one or more acupressure assemblies, each of which comprises one or more acupressure members rotated by power and is supported by the support frame, wherein the acupressure assemblies rotate in one direction around one axis of the support frame.
Abstract:
A device for use in physical therapy is provided. The device includes an axis, and a plurality of balls which are rotatably mounted on the axis. Each ball is equipped with a shaft through which the axis extends. The surface of the shaft is equipped with a plurality of spaced apart protrusions, and an adjustable locking feature disposed on the axis that rotatably and releasably engages the grooves formed by the spaces between the protrusions such that the distance between the balls may be adjustably fixed to any of a plurality of predetermined values.
Abstract:
A cleaning and massaging system includes a water resistant housing having a top surface and a bottom surface; a display and one or more buttons coupled to the top portion; a processor inside the housing; and a vibration generator driven by the processor to vibrate on user command.
