Abstract: Methods and systems for spectating a live video game are presented. In one method embodiment, an operation includes providing an interface for presenting an overhead view of an interactive environment of a video game on a head mounted display (HMD). The method also provides an operation for providing a magnifying window for displaying a magnified view of the interactive environment, where the magnified view is associated with a second vantage point that is closer to the interactive environment than is a first vantage point of the overhead view. The method further provides an operation for tracking a real-world position of a controller of the spectator and moving the location of the magnifying window to correspond to the real-world position of the controller.

Abstract: Methods and systems for providing a summary of interactions exchanged between users includes receiving a request for the summary for a time window of gameplay of a video game from a user and, in response, identifying a subset of the interactions generated during the time window. The subset of interactions are analyzed to identify keywords representing topics discussed within and presenting the keywords using visual representation defining a level of prominence assigned to the keywords on a user interface for rendering. Selection of a keyword results in the summary associated with the keyword to be presented to the user.

Abstract: A cloud-based gaming system generates first and second instances of a virtual world of an online game for first and second players, respectively. First and second video streams of the first and second instances of the virtual world, respectively, are transmitted to the first and second players, respectively. The second video stream includes a ghosted version of a feature within the first instance of the virtual world. A request is received from the second player to merge the first and second instances of the virtual world. With the first player's approval, a merged instance of the virtual world is automatically generated by the cloud-gaming system as a combination of the first and second instances of the virtual world. Third and fourth video streams of the merged instance of the virtual world are transmitted to the first and second players, respectively, in lieu of the first and second video streams, respectively.

Abstract: Methods of the present disclosure may collect data when a user plays one or more different types of games when determinations are made as to whether the difficulty of a game should be changed. The collected data maybe evaluated to identify whether a user gaming performance level corresponds to an expected level of performance. When the user gaming performance level does not correspond to an expected level of performance, parameters that change the difficultly of the game may be changed automatically. Parameters that relate to movement speed, delay or hesitation, character strengths, numbers of competitors, or other metrics may be changed incrementally until a current user performance level corresponds to an expectation level of a particular user currently playing the game. At this time, the user expectation level may be changed, and the process may be repeated as skills of the user are developed over time.

Abstract: Methods and systems for cooperative or coached gameplay in virtual environments are disclosed. Memory may store a content control profile regarding a set of control input associated with an action in a virtual environment of a digital content title. A request may be received from a set of one or more users associated with different source devices regarding cooperative gameplay of the digital content title. At least one virtual avatar may be generated for an interactive session of the digital content title in response to the request. A plurality of control inputs may be received from the plurality of different source devices and combined into a combination set of control inputs. Generating the combination set of control input may be based on the content control profile. Virtual actions associated with the virtual avatar may be controlled within the virtual environment in accordance with the combination set of control inputs.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for generating recommendations related to a game. One example method is for generating recommendations for a game executed by a cloud gaming service. The method includes receiving, by a server, sensor data captured during gameplay of the game by a plurality of user, and each of the plurality of sensor data includes intensity information related to reactions made by respective users. The method includes processing, by the server, features from the sensor data and the interactive data from the game when the users played the game. The features are classified and used to build an engagement model that identifies relationships between specific ones of the plurality of sensor data and the interactive data. The method includes processing, by the server, sensor data captured during a current gameplay by a user using the engagement model. The processing is configured to generate a recommendation to the user regarding an action to take to progress in the game during said current gameplay.

Abstract: Methods and systems for engaging an AI player of a user to play a video game on behalf of the user includes creating the AI player for the user using at least some of the attributes of the user, training the AI player using inputs provided by the user during game play of the video game, and providing access to the video game for game play to the AI player. The access allows the AI player to provide inputs to the video game that substantially mimics a play style of the user. Control of the game play of the video game can be transitioned to the user at any time during the game play of the AI player. The user can also control the game play of the AI player from a video recording of the game play.
