Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. The method may include receiving an UL grant for each CC of a plurality of CCs. In an aspect, each UL grant may include a number of transport blocks (TBs) assigned to each CC. The method may further include sorting CCs among the plurality of CCs as a function at least in part based on the number of TB for each of the CCs, and transmitting one or more packet data units (PDUs) using a subset of CCs of the plurality of CCs. In an aspect, the subset of CCs may be based at least in part on the sorting, and any CC of the plurality of CCs in which only medium access control (MAC) padding PDUs would be transmitted may not be included in the subset of CCs.

In wireless communication, uplink communication by a wireless communication system user equipment may include providing data packets by a data source in the user equipment, detecting a pattern relating to uplink transmission of the plurality of data packets, and scheduling transmission of the plurality of data packets by the user equipment. One or more aspects of scheduling transmission of the plurality of data packets may be based on the detected pattern.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for component carrier and/or transport block decoding order indication to reduce packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) reordering. For example, the method generally includes generating an ordered sequence of packets associated with a plurality of transport blocks for transmission to a receiving device. The method includes providing an indication to the receiving device of the ordered sequence of packets associated with the plurality of transport blocks. The method includes transmitting the plurality of transport blocks to the receiving device. The receiving device decodes the plurality of transport blocks in accordance with the indication.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for reliable transmission of system information (SI). In some cases, a UE may send an indication to request SI in an on-demand manner. For example, a method for wireless communications by a UE may include determining system information (SI) desired by the UE is not currently being broadcast. The method for further include sending, in response to the determination, a first indication to request the SI, and sending a second indication to confirm reception of the requested SI or to indicate the UE has not received the requested SI after a time period.

The present methods and apparatuses may select to a cell associated with a radio access technology (RAT) in response to performing a first procedure, the first procedure including at least one of a cell selection procedure, a cell reselection procedure, or a handover procedure. The present methods and apparatuses may further acquire one or more parameters associated with the selected cell identified by a cell global identity (CGI). The present methods and apparatuses may further determine that the CGI of the cell corresponds to a stored CGI of a previous cell. Moreover, the present methods and apparatuses may perform at least one second procedure based on determining that the CGI of the cell corresponds to the stored CGI of the previous cell, the second procedure including a communication configuration procedure based at least on the one or more parameters.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communications. In some aspects, a method, apparatus, system, computer program product, non-transitory computer-readable medium, user equipment, transmitter device, and wireless communication device are presented for unidirectional robust header compression (RoHC). The transmitter device may identify a system resource condition of at least one of the transmitter device or a receiver device of one or more data units, configure robust header compression in a single direction for wireless communication of the one or more data units between the transmitter device and the receiver device, and/or process the data units based at least in part on configuring the robust header compression. Aspects described herein relate to wireless communications. Protocol data units (PDUs) can be received at a network layer from one or more transmitting nodes using a link associated with each respective transmitting node. One or more missing PDUs can be detected based, at least in part, on sequence numbers of the received PDUs. A timer can be started based on the detection of the one or more missing PDUs. In response to expiration of the timer, and without receiving the one or more missing PDUs before the expiration of the timer, a lower network layer can be notified that the one or more missing PDUs are received to prevent attempted transmitting/retransmitting or other processing of the one or more missing PDUs.

A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus is for wireless communication with a serving cell. The apparatus receives a first segment of a first IP packet in a first MBSFN subframe. The IP packet can include a data related to an eMBMS service. The apparatus determines a second segment of the first IP packet is not received in a second MBSFN subframe. The apparatus assembles a replacement IP packet that includes the first segment of the first IP packet and a first IP header. The apparatus performs FEC on the replacement IP packet.

A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a modem. The apparatus detects reception of a low latency data packet. The apparatus starts a data activity timer determined based on the detection of the reception of the low latency data packet. The apparatus sends a disable low power message from the apparatus to a host device to disable a low power state of a link between the apparatus and the host device based on a duration of the data activity timer.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for quick radio link control (RLC) retransmission on hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) failure during tune away. According to certain aspects, a method for wireless communications is provided. The method generally includes performing communications with a base station (BS) using radio components tuned to a first air interface, detecting a tune-away of the radio components from the first air interface to a second air interface while performing the communications, and scheduling one or more packets for retransmission to the BS upon completion of the tune-away, wherein the one or more packets are one or more packets that failed to be transmitted due to the tune-away.
