Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may measure a parameter associated with a secondary cell group. The UE may perform an optimization response action for a dual connectivity mode of a first frequency parameter or a second frequency parameter when the parameter satisfies a threshold, wherein the optimization response action is associated with whether the secondary cell group is operating with the first frequency parameter or the second frequency parameter. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A system may support techniques for triggering user equipment (UE) assistance information (UAI) based on mobility, wake up signal (WUS) configuration, or both. In some cases, a UE may communicate with a network node (e.g., a base station) on a first channel according to a discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration. The UE may determine that a speed of the UE satisfies a mobility threshold and may transmit UAI requesting one or more updated DRX configuration parameters based on the speed of the UE satisfying the mobility threshold. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may receive signaling configuring the UE to monitor for WUSs and may transmit UAI requesting one or more updated DRX configuration parameters based on the WUS configuration. The UE may receive control signaling configuring the DRX configuration with the one or more requested parameters in response to the UAI.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, control signaling for communications in a wireless communications system. The control signaling may indicate a first duration for an inactivity timer. The UE may initiate the inactivity timer and a second timer based on identifying a period of inactivity. The second timer may have a second duration that is shorter than the first duration for the inactivity timer. In some examples, the second duration may be based on one or more parameters, such as a display status, a battery status, a scaling factor, the first duration, an application state, or any combination thereof. The UE may release a connection for the communications in the wireless communications system based on an expiration of the second timer, an expiration of the inactivity timer, or a combination thereof.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatuses that use various connection reconfiguration signaling schemes to enable fast user equipment reconfiguration in wireless networks. A network can reduce reconfiguration signaling traffic or overhead by reducing the amount of configuration data sent to each user equipment (UE) in a reconfiguration message. In some examples, when a UE first enters a network area, the network may provide the UE with a list of commonly used baseline configurations. Each baseline configuration may be identified by an index and a value tag. Subsequently, the network may transmit a reconfiguration message including, for example, only the index and value tag to indicate the desired configuration.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for recovery from a connection disruption of a user equipment (UE) operating in a multi-carrier mode. The UE may establish a first connection with a primary cell and a second connection with a secondary cell while operating in the multi-carrier mode. A determination may be made that a disruption in the connection with the primary cell has occurred, and the UE may perform a connection reestablishment procedure to attempt to reestablish communications. The connection reestablishment routine may prioritize the secondary cell ahead of one or more other cells for attempting to reestablish communications. The prioritization may be based at least in part on the establishment of the second connection in the multi-carrier mode.

A UE may determine a signal quality estimate for each of two or more overlapping MBSFN areas based on Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) information and Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) information for the MBSFN area. The UE may then determine a combined signal quality based on the signal quality estimates of the MBSFN areas.
