Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a position estimation entity determines a set of position estimates associated with a set of user equipments (UEs), obtains first measurement information associated with a set of signals as reflected off of a target intelligent reflecting surface (IRS), determines a position estimate of the target IRS based on the set of position estimates and the first measurement information, and determines an orientation, relative to a common orientation reference frame, of the target IRS based on the set of position estimates and at least the first measurement information.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for wireless communication for determining the position of a wireless node. The method comprises receiving a set of reference signals from a set of at least four positioning devices, wherein the positioning devices are not arranged in a single plane. A signal propagation delay of each one of the set of reference signals is determined and a position of each one of the set of positioning devices is obtained. A convex localization problem is solved for the wireless node based at least in part on the determined signal propagation delay of each one of the set of reference signals and the position of each one of the set of positioning devices. The position of the wireless node is determined based at least in part on solving of the convex localization problem.

In some aspects, a user equipment may receive, from a base station, a scheduling downlink control information (DCI) communication that schedules a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission, the scheduling DCI including an indication of a resource allocation for a DCI communication, wherein the resource allocation for the DCI communication includes one or more resources included in a resource allocation for the PDSCH transmission, and receive the PDSCH transmission that includes the DCI communication based at least in part on the indication of the resource allocation for the DCI communication. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may communicate a connection release message via a first beam to release a connection between the UE and a network entity. The UE may obtain an indication associated with a second beam of a non-terrestrial network entity indicating a set of one or more beams associated with a paging early indication. The UE may monitor for the PEI paging message based on whether the first beam is included in the set of one or more beams. Alternatively, the UE may skip monitoring for the PEI based on the first beam being excluded from the set of one or more beams, and the UE may monitor for a paging message during a paging occasion. In some examples, the UE may receive a message indicating the set of one or more beams from the non-terrestrial network entity.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for reducing latency for closed loop sidelink communications for non-terrestrial networks (NTNs) are described. In some examples, a first user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a network entity, a message requesting an allocation of sidelink resources for the first UE and an allocation of sidelink resources for a second UE. The first UE may receive, from the network entity in response to the request message, an indication of a first set of sidelink resources for the first UE. In some examples, the first UE may transmit one or more data messages to the second UE, including an indication of a second set of sidelink resources, an indication that the network entity may directly allocate the second set of sidelink resources, or both. In some example, the first UE may receive one or more data messages from the second UE on the second set of sidelink resources.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to utilizing an intelligent reflecting surface (IRS), a tracking algorithm, or both, to receive, calibrate, and maintain orbital angular momentum (OAM) signaling between wireless devices. The present disclosure describes a first wireless device transmitting spatial-multiple input-multiple output (MIMO) beams to the IRS such that reflected waves from the IRS form a spatial mixture of OAM modes. The IRS may reflect such OAM modes to a second wireless device for subsequent reflection (e.g., a second IRS), reception, calibration, and optimization. For example, the second wireless device may perform pattern recognition of the concentric OAM modes (e.g., by estimating ellipse geometry) to determine the modes of the OAM signaling. The second wireless device may also perform decorrelation, where small perturbations to the elliptical OAM geometry allow the second wireless device to perform one or more optimization techniques related to the OAM signaling.
