Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine a configuration of a retransmission of a first message of a random access procedure based on a set of transmission configuration options transmitted by a base station. For example, the UE may transmit the first message but may reconfigure the first message for the retransmission based on the transmission configuration options. Additionally, the UE may configure a set of transmission configuration states based on the transmission configuration options for transmitting/retransmitting the first message. In some cases, the UE may determine to switch transmission configuration states based on a trigger signaled by the base station and/or a determination by the UE. Additionally, the UE may transmit an indication of a log of state transitions performed prior to a retransmission of the first message to facilitate combining of the retransmissions at the base station.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station over a first bandwidth part (BWP) of a carrier. The UE may receive a beam failure recovery (BFR) configuration signal configuring a set of periodic channel state information reference signals (CSI-RSs) in the first BWP and a set of synchronization signals in a second BWP. The UE may measure the set of periodic CSI-RSs in the first BWP. The UE may set a beam for communicating with the base station over the first BWP based at least in part on the measuring. The UE may be a reduced bandwidth capability and support communicating with the base station using only one BWP.

Abstract: A UE and a base station are disclosed. The UE may receive, from a base station, an indication of a configuration of an SS and a set of candidate DL-RSs associated with a plurality of CG-SDT resources. The base station may monitor for the UL data transmission from the UE corresponding to a CG-SDT occasion of the CG-SDT resources. The UE may measure a RSRP of each of the set of candidate DL-RSs associated with the CG-SDT resources. The UE may select an UL beam based on the measured RSRP of each of the set of candidate DL-RSs associated with the CG-SDT resources. The UE may transmit, to the base station via the selected UL beam, the UL data transmission over a CG-SDT occasion of the plurality of CG-SDT resources. The UE may monitor the SS for a response to the UL data transmission from the base station.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, information that configures multiple random access channel (RACH) partitions, wherein the multiple RACH partitions are each associated with a respective combination of one or more RACH features. The UE may select, from the multiple RACH partitions, a RACH partition based at least in part on the UE satisfying one or more criteria for the combination of one or more RACH features associated with the RACH partition. The UE may transmit, to the base station, a preamble on physical RACH (PRACH) resources associated with the RACH partition to initiate a RACH procedure supporting the combination of one or more RACH features associated with the RACH partition. Abstract: A wireless device may receive a radio link control (RLC) protocol data unit (PDU) from a lower layer (e.g., from a media access control (MAC) layer) when processing communications (e.g., packets) received from another wireless device. The receiving wireless device may identify that the PDU is an RLC service data unit (SDU) segment based at least in part on an indication corresponding to a sequence number associated with the RLC SDU segment. The receiving wireless device may then determine that the RLC SDU segment is received out of order based on previously received PDUs or previously received RLC SDU segments, and initiate a reassembly timer based on the out of order determination for the RLC SDUs. If the remaining RLC SDU segments (e.g., that complete the RLC SDU) are received before reassembly timer expires, the wireless device may reassemble the RLC SDU to be passed to a higher layer.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) entity of a receiver device receives, from a radio link control (RLC) entity of the receiver device, a plurality of RLC data packets received from a transmitter device over an RLC unacknowledged mode (UM) data radio bearer (DRB) or RLC transparent mode (TM) DRB. The PDCP entity generates a plurality of PDCP data packets corresponding to the plurality of RLC data packets. The receiver device determines to send a PDCP status report indicating a reception status at the receiver device of the plurality of PDCP data packets and transmits the PDCP status report to a PDCP entity of the transmitter device. The receiver device receives, in response to sending the PDCP status report, one or more PDCP data packets of the plurality of PDCP data packets that were not successfully received at the receiver device.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may identify a bearer (e.g., a default bearer) and request establishment of a second bearer (e.g., a high priority bearer) for use in streaming downlink data from, for example, an application server. The UE may determine a status of a playout buffer and select the first bearer or the second bearer for use in streaming the downlink data associated with the application based on the status of the playout buffer. For example, the first bearer may be used be used by default, and the second bearer may be selected if the amount of data in the playout buffer does not satisfy (e.g., is below) a threshold. In some cases, each bearer may be associated with a transmission control protocol (TCP) port associated with a TCP connection. In some cases, each bearer may be associated with different Internet protocol (IP) address.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some wireless communications systems, a transmitting device may identify a Radio Link Control (RLC) service data unit (SDU) to be transmitted to a receiving device. In some cases, the transmitting device may not have access to sufficient resources to transmit the entire RLC SDU. As such, the transmitting device may segment the RLC SDU into RLC SDU segments, and the transmitting device may transmit the RLC SDU segments to the receiving device. If an RLC layer at the receiving device receives one or more RLC SDU segments out of sequence, the RLC layer may initiate a reassembly (or reordering) timer. The RLC layer may reassemble the successfully received RLC SDU segments to be passed to upper layers. Once the timer expires, the RLC layer may declare that the missing RLC SDU segments are lost.
