Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive at least one sounding reference signal (SRS) resource set configuration for a plurality of SRS resources that correspond to respective SRS ports on which an SRS is to be transmitted; transmit SRSs using the SRS resources; receive downlink control information that identifies a sequence of SRS resource indicator (SRI) collections, where an SRI collection identifies one or more of the SRS resources used for transmitting the SRSs; and transmit a plurality of repetitions of an uplink communication based at least in part on the sequence of SRI collections, where a repetition is transmitted using one or more uplink ports that correspond to one or more SRS ports associated with the one or more SRS resources identified based at least in part on the SRI collection. In one aspect, a method is provided which may be performed by a wireless device such as a user equipment (UE), which may be an NB-IoT device. The method generally includes performing a cell search based on one or more signals received in an anchor RB within a set of RBs available for narrowband communications with a base station (BS); determining a location of at least one additional RB available for the narrowband communications with the BS based on an indication received in the anchor RB; and performing narrowband communications with the BS using at least one of: the anchor RB or the at least one additional resource block.

Abstract: Due to the limited dimension of a NB that may be used by multiple users, as well as possible large coverage areas, timing offset estimation may be outside of NCP. The inaccuracy in the timing estimate can be improved by using more than one tone hopping distance for PRACH. An apparatus may then transmit a first and second tone of the PRACH at a first hopping distance from the first tone. The apparatus may then transmit a third tone of the PRACH and a fourth tone of the PRACH at a second hopping distance from the third tone. The second hopping distance may be greater than first hopping distance. The apparatus may also transmit an additional tone of the PRACH using a random hopping distance. A receiving apparatus may receive the transmitted PRACH and determine a phase estimation based on the sets of tones having different hopping distances.

Abstract: An apparatus may receive signaling from a base station that indicates different tone indices. The apparatus may further transmit a plurality of symbols in a single tone uplink transmission. In an aspect, groups of symbols in the plurality of symbols are transmitted using the different tone indices of the single tone uplink transmission indicated by the received signaling. A second apparatus may signal to at least one user equipment (UE) information associated with different tone indices for use in transmitting a plurality of symbols in a single tone uplink transmission. The second apparatus may further receive the plurality of symbols in the single tone uplink transmission. In an aspect, pairs of symbols in the plurality of symbols are received in different tone indices of the single tone uplink transmission.
