Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a grant for a communication with the base station. The UE may determine whether the communication is associated with a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ)-based transmission mode or a HARQ-less transmission mode. The UE may communicate with the base station based at least in part on the grant and the determination of whether the communication is associated with the HARQ-based transmission mode or the HARQ-less transmission mode. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, abase station may employ a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) that uses passive components to reflect incoming signals in one or more directions. The base station may dynamically configure the RIS to reflect an incoming signal in a specific direction. The base station may transmit, to one or more user equipments (UEs), a message indicating a configuration of one or more RISs. In some aspects, the configuration may include a location of a RIS, reflection angles of a RIS, or both. Based on the configuration, a UE may select a RIS to facilitate communications with the base station. The base station and the UE may communicate via the selected RIS. In some examples, the base station may communicate with one or more UEs via one or more RISs using RIS division multiple access (RDMA).

For a set of scheduled transmission instances of a data communication, a transmitting network node may determine a first spatial filter to apply for a first subset of the scheduled transmission instances configured to provide the data communication and a second spatial filter to apply for a second subset of the scheduled transmission instances configured to allow energy harvesting at an energy harvesting device. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A network entity may select a network energy saving mode from a set of network energy saving modes based on traffic conditions. The network entity may transmit a message indicating the network energy saving mode, a set of operating states corresponding to the network energy saving mode, and one or more time durations corresponding to the set of operating states, the set of operating states associated with one or more operating parameters corresponding to the one or more time durations. After transmitting the message, the network entity may activate the network energy saving mode for one or more components based on the one or more time durations. The UE may receive the message and perform one or more operations in accordance with the one or more operating parameters for the one or more time durations based on receiving the message.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for relayed sidelink communications in which a set of relays receives a groupcast sidelink communication from a source and relay the communication to a destination using cooperative multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) techniques. A source, such as a source user equipment (UE), may reserve resources for the groupcast sidelink communication and the cooperative MIMO transmissions, and may transmit a resource reservation message with an indication of the reserved resources. The resource reservation message may be transmitted in a sidelink control information transmission, in a medium access control message, or any combinations thereof. In the event of a collision in reserved resources of multiple different sources, the sources or relays may determine a priority of each communication and transmit a selected communication based on the priority determination.
