Abstract: Apparatus and method for communication in non-terrestrial networks are disclosed. A set of Doppler shift curves for different distances to one or more satellite orbits is obtained. Measurements of satellite transmission are performed to obtain estimate of instantaneous Doppler shift of the transmission, the measurements including a timestamp. A Doppler shift curve corresponding to the measurements is calculated. A time offset on the selected curve is determined utilising the timestamps of the measurements, the time offset indicating the position of the Doppler shift of the apparatus on the curve. The Doppler shift of the satellite transmission is determined utilising the selected curve and the time offset.

Abstract: In accordance with an example embodiment of the present invention, a method comprising: receiving, by a user equipment, instructions based on a determination that a communication sent from the user equipment to at least one network comprising signaling to at least one network node over continuous time slots of at least one uplink connection would cause a problem with the communication; and based on the instructions, preventing by the user equipment the signaling over at least one particular time slot of the at least one uplink connection to overcome the problem, wherein the instructions are received in a recurring pattern indicating the at least one particular time slot.

Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to information transmission in random access. A method comprises selecting, one of a plurality of random access preambles that is received from a terminal device, the plurality of random access preambles being divided into a plurality of subsets of random access preambles; selecting at least one predefined sequence associated with the selected random access preamble based on a predetermined association between a plurality of predefined sequences and the plurality of subsets of random access preambles and based on a target resource unit to be used for transmission of control information and data information; modulating the control information with one of the at least one predefined sequence, the control information indicating configuration of the data information; and transmitting the selected random access preamble, the modulated control information, and the data information in a random access message to the network device.
