A method and an apparatus for providing a location based service in a wireless communication system are provided. A method of a Base Station (BS) for a Location Based Service (LBS) in a wireless communication system includes allocating identifiers to a plurality of transmission devices in a service coverage area of the BS, generating a Reference Signal (RS) including the identifier of the corresponding transmission device and an identifier of the BS with respect to each of the transmission devices, and transmitting the RS generated for each of the transmission devices, to a Mobile Station (MS) via the corresponding transmission device.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for efficiently operating a fast feedback channel in a wireless communication system are provided. A method for operating a feedback channel in a Base Station (BS) of a wireless communication system includes identifying feedback information types of one or more feedback channels intended to be deallocated among a plurality of existing allocated feedback channels for a Mobile Station (MS), activating a bit corresponding to the identified feedback information type in a ‘deallocation bitmap’ field within a DownLink (DL) control signal, and transmitting the DL control signal to the MS. Among the feedback information types of the plurality of existing allocated feedback channels, the feedback information type having the smallest value corresponds to the highest priority bit among bits within the ‘deallocation bitmap’ field.
Abstract:
A broadband wireless communication system supporting a frequency overlay scheme is provided. An operating method of a base station includes allocating relative addresses to Resource Blocks in at least one operating Frequency Assignment (FA) of a terminal according to an addressing scheme for the terminal; generating at least one resource indicator represented with the relative addresses; generating resource allocation information which comprises the at least one resource indicator; and transmitting the resource allocation information through a primary FA of the terminal.

An apparatus and method for notifying a change of system control information in a wireless communication system are provided. The method includes, changing a Group Configuration Change Counter (GCCC) and upon change of a Secondary-Super Frame Header/Sub-Packet1 (S-SFH/SP1) whose transmission period is changeable within a range of one or more super frames, changing the GCCC and information representing the change of the common control message upon change of at least one common control message, and transmitting the GCCC and the information representing the change of the at least one common control message.

An operating method of a base station in a broadband wireless communication system includes determining whether to relocate at least one persistently allocated resource, when it is determined to relocate the at least one persistently allocated resource, relocating the at least one persistently allocated resource, generating a resource relocation Information Element (IE) indicative of the resource relocation using an offset of a Resource Block (RB), and transmitting the resource relocation IE.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus are provided for estimating and removing interference of a signal at a wireless repeater operating in a multi-carrier system. In the method, a current echo channel linear prediction coefficient, which represents a coefficient between a current train signal section and a previous train signal section, is estimated using a current echo channel coefficient estimated in the current train signal section and a previous echo channel coefficient generated in the previous train signal section. A next echo channel coefficient is estimated using the current echo channel coefficient, the previous echo channel coefficient, and the current echo channel linear prediction coefficient. An echo channel coefficient outside a train signal section is estimated using the current echo channel coefficient and the next echo channel coefficient.

The method includes generating voice data of a fixed length, which includes a voice packet having a length that is determined according to a rate of the voice packet, and a Forward Error Correction (FEC) code, and transmitting the generated voice data through a fixed resource.

A method and system for allocating resources in a communication system are provided. The system includes a Base Station (BS) for allocating persistent resources included in a persistent resource area to one or more a Mobile Stations (MS) using the persistent resource area, for allocating an Identifier (ID) indicating an allocation order of the persistent resources to each of the one or more the MS using the persistent resource area, for transmitting resource allocation information including the ID and the number of slots included in the persistent resources to each of the one or more MSs using the persistent resource area, and for allocating dynamic resources to one or more MSs using a dynamic resource area, after the persistent resource allocation is completed for all of the one or more MSs using the persistent resource area. The persistent resource area includes successive persistent resources along a time axis and along a frequency axis.

A ZF joint detection apparatus for a downlink receiver, the apparatus comprising: a channel estimator for estimating a channel impulse response of a multipath fading channel of a received signal; a channel equalizer for estimating a transmission signal by performing channel compensation and removing multipath interference by a deconvolution technique based on the estimated channel impulse response; and a user detector for detecting a symbol-level data sequence transmitted by a specific user by despreading the transmission signal estimated by the channel equalizer with a spreading code for the specific user and a scrambling code.
