摘要: Embodiments of the invention provide shaped masses (SM) comprising one or more drugs such as proteins or polypeptides and methods for forming and delivering such SM's. One embodiment provides a SM comprising a drug e.g., a protein or polypeptide having a biological activity in the body of a mammal. The SM is formed by compression of a precursor material (PM) comprising the drug wherein an amount of biologically active drug in the SM is a minimum level to that in the PM. Drugs which may be incorporated into the SM include insulin, incretins and immunoglobulins e.g., interleukin neutralizing antibodies or TNF-α-inhibiting antibodies. Embodiments of the invention are particularly useful for the oral delivery of drugs which would be degraded within the GI tract, wherein the SM containing the drug is formed as or incorporated into a tissue penetrating member which is inserted into the intestinal wall after oral ingestion.

摘要: Embodiments herein provide differential dilation stents for use in percutaneous interventions, such as transluminal bypass procedures. In some embodiments, the stents may be used in the process of creating an arteriovenous (AV) fistula during a percutaneous bypass procedure, and such stents may have two or more specialized regions that are configured to adopt a predetermined diameter, shape, and/or tensile strength upon insertion in order to suit the needs of the vessel or procedure. The disclosed stents may be used for creating and/or maintaining an arterial/venous fistula for bypass of an occlusion in a cardiac artery using a cardiac vein, or the femoral artery, for example using the tibial or popliteal vein.

摘要: Systems, devices and methods for communication include an ear canal microphone configured for placement in the ear canal to detect high frequency sound localization cues. An external microphone positioned away from the ear canal can detect low frequency sound, such that feedback can be substantially reduced. The canal microphone and the external microphone are coupled to a transducer, such that the user perceives sound from the external microphone and the canal microphone with high frequency localization cues and decreased feedback. Wireless circuitry can be configured to connect to many devices with a wireless protocol, such that the user can receive and transmit audio signals. A bone conduction sensor can detect near-end speech of the user for transmission with the wireless circuitry in a noisy environment. Noise cancellation of background sounds near the user can be provided.

摘要: A multi-pole synchronous pulmonary artery radiofrequency ablation catheter may comprise a control handle, a catheter body and an annular ring. One end of the catheter body may be flexible, and the flexible end of the catheter body may be connected to the annular ring. The other end of the catheter body may be connected to the control handle. A shape memory wire may be arranged in the annular ring. One end of the shape memory wire may extend to an end of the annular ring and the other end of the shape memory wire may pass through a root of the annular ring and be fixed on the flexible end of the catheter body. The annular ring may be provided with an electrode group. The device possesses advantages of simple operation, short operation time and controllable precise ablation. The device can be used to treat pulmonary hypertension with pulmonary denervation.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention provide swallowable devices, preparations and methods for delivering drugs and other therapeutic agents within the GI tract. Some embodiments provide a swallowable device such as a capsule for delivering drugs into the intestinal wall or other GI lumen. The device comprises a capsule sized to be swallowed and pass through the intestinal tract. The capsule can include at least one guide tube, one or more tissue penetrating members positioned in the guide tube, a delivery member, an actuating mechanism and a release element. The release element degrades upon exposure to various conditions in the intestine so as to release and actuate the actuating mechanism. Embodiments of the invention are particularly useful for the delivery of drugs which are poorly absorbed, tolerated and/or degraded within the GI tract.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention provide swallowable devices, preparations and methods for delivering drugs and other therapeutic agents within the GI tract. Many embodiments provide a swallowable device for delivering the agents. Particular embodiments provide a swallowable device such as a capsule for delivering drugs into the intestinal wall or other GI lumen. Embodiments also provide various drug preparations that are configured to be contained within the capsule, advanced from the capsule into the intestinal wall and degrade to release the drug into the bloodstream to produce a therapeutic effect. The preparation can be operably coupled to delivery means having a first configuration where the preparation is contained in the capsule and a second configuration where the preparation is advanced out of the capsule into the intestinal wall. Embodiments of the invention are particularly useful for the delivery of drugs which are poorly absorbed, tolerated and/or degraded within the GI tract.
